Alright y’all I’m back at it again and you KNOW how much I love ❤️ burgers . Let’s get into it and see if Danny’s delivered. Here we go!
My husband and I are “foodies” to our hearts and had been wanting to check this place out for awhile. It’s a ways away from where we live, but we found ourselves in this area for other reasons and decided to go for it.
When we pulled up it was in a strip mall with some other businesses, nestled in an unassuming spot. As we pulled up there didn’t seem to be a lot of people at the time. I was on a call so it took us a minute to go in. As we were sitting people started trickling in and then flooding in. I was like let me get my butt off this phone and in here so we can see what the hype is about.
Ahniya was the first face we saw. She met us with a warm and welcoming smile, took our order with care and made suggestions when we told her it was our first visit. She told us she’d only been working there for three days but she’s already a pro. Great personality and face of the business as you walk in!
When I asked if I could take some photos she grabbed Mark. He came out and was just as welcoming. He told us he was the general manager and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed during our visit.
Our food arrived hot, fresh, accurate and so appealing. My husband and I each ordered the DBS Classic burger. I got a double with extra cheese, raw onion, dill pickle and crispy Applewood smoked bacon . My husband got the same except he got a triple and no bacon. We also both got tater tots and the house ranch on the side.
Needless to say, we looked at the food, looked at each other and went to work. When I tell you this burger was phenomenal – I absolutely mean THAT!!!! The beef was so tender, juicy and seasoned to the utmost of perfection. The cheese was gooey like I love and the bacon was perfect. This is hands down the most delectable smash burger I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying in this city – HANDS DOWN!!! Major shout-out to Terrell. You truly did ya thang!!!!
Now I don’t want to make the Tater Tots jealous here because they certainly did their thing as well, with their hot, fresh and crispy selves. Oh so crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside and when I dipped them in that savory ranch it was a complete wrap. Chile, I was all the way in food heaven with this meal.
Y’all!!! If you call yourself a burger connoisseur you have GOT to get your behind to this spot immediately. The portions are excellent. I felt we got great value for our money and the staff is so wonderful that it makes you feel good patronizing this establishment. It’s clean with plenty of seating, unique drink options and a little station where you can get your ketchup and mustard.
Another added bonus is they offer discounts to members of unions, LEO, fire, vet, active, guard and reserve members. Way to give back to the community.
Not much more to say here except if you haven’t figured it out by now I highly recommend this place, it’s worth the drive and we’ll DEFINITELY be back for more. Tell Ahniya, Mark and Terrell we said “what’s up” and make sure to treat’em right. Enjoy and you’re welcome!!! ✌️
I went because I had a coupon, but ended up getting the $10 special, which was the Old School, fries and a soda. That cheeseburger was legit and the house made pickles (the savory ones, not sweet) were so yummy! I assumed it would be a double, cuz it’s a smash burger, but it was a single. That was my fault. The fries were good. Nothing special, but there were enough for two people, and I’ll admit that I ate 90% of them. LOL! I’ll definitely return next time I’m in the area and try the onion rings!
Danny’s Burger Shack, shall we call it a hole in the wall? Maybe, but man do they deliver amazing food? Yes they do, everything seems homemade, from the bun to the homemade pickles that seems closer to cucumbers, they have a nice fresh crisp texture and flavor, I love it! Paired up with a side of fries that are straight from a fresh potato, they just have that flavor, for me that is the kind of fries that I love!
This place is definitely worth the detour!
They were already out of onion rings the day we visited, but it was almost 3 PM so I understand.
I got an old-school double and added extra mustard. Because I like to try a burger for the first time with mustard pickle and onion only, because that’s the way I grew up eating them in Wichita.
My wife ordered the Drunken Rancher without the barbecue sauce and she mostly enjoyed it.
Both of us thought the burgers were a little bit over salted and she did not finish the last 1/3 of hers because of that.
The restaurant itself was a little dirty. Our area of the counter where we ate, had some sticky things on it, and the restrooms were unclean and did not have any toilet paper. The floors were pretty dirty throughout the restaurant. However, the gal at the front was tending the drink station and condiment station and was cleaning those up when we left. They may have been so busy that the staff did not have any time to clean from the time they open until 3 o’clock.
This is definitely a good burger and deserves to be on the list of the best ones in the metro. But it wasn’t our favorite.
