I’ve been a regular at Dannie’s Chinese Takeout on Upsher St., and it’s always a solid choice when I’m craving Chinese food. They offer the typical Chinese takeout menu, and I almost always go for the General Tso Chicken Dinner Combo, which is consistently good. The prices are reasonable, making it a great value.
While there’s a very small seating area in the restaurant, it’s rarely used for dining in – most people, including myself, grab their takeout and go. The food is tasty, though not anything to write home about. It’s the kind of place where you know you’ll get a satisfying meal, but it’s not exactly gourmet. The staff is friendly, though they tend to be quick to get you in and out, which is understandable with the high volume of takeout orders. Overall, a reliable spot for quick, affordable Chinese food.

Way better carry outs in the city and if you keep going up in the 70 or d40 bus what they call it now you most def will the fries are light something from Walmart when I got them lowkey had freezer burn mumbo sauce is mid and lady is rude you’re better off hitting Pizza Hut across the street

1st time eating from here and I was desperate and disappointed. shrimp and broccoli is drowning in a spicy greasy ketchup sauce. shrimp are small and tough. awful. i only wanted shrimp and broccoli without rice and not happy☹️

I wouldn’t have given them any stars….they are the rudest humans of all humans without respect nor manners….I ordered 6 fried chicken wings…about time received my order and inspected it….my food wasn’t fresh at all and the chicken was cold and. I called them back immediately to address the problem then i was put on hold as I heard customers coming in so they cater to them fist… ….the delivery driver is so rude that he doesn’t need to deal with the public at all….that business needs to be citated…and they also charges extra 5 cents for the bags and they are located on Upshur St. NW Washington DC…

Pretty terrible. Ordered General Tso’s and ate it at home 5 minutes later. It was cold, soggy and most of it tasted like fried batter instead of chicken. They were quick and friendly. $17 for a stomach ache though. Pretty dissapointed.

This used to be our favorite Chinese take out spot, but they significantly increased their prices and the portion sizes shrunk. Also, the really nice lady who worked the counter is gone. Not sure if it’s under new management, but the quality has fallen off considerably and this makes us very sad.
