If you’re anywhere near Boone, the Daniel Boone Inn is an absolute must visit! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with that warm, vintage charm that makes you feel right at home and a blast from the past. The family-style dining is incredible. Every dish tastes like it came straight out of Grandma’s kitchen. The fried chicken is perfectly crispy, the country ham biscuits are delicious, and don’t even get me started on the dessert!

The staff is friendly, attentive and keeps your table full of comfort food. It’s the perfect place to bring family or friends for a hearty, memorable meal.

I’d give it more than five stars if I could…definitely one of the best dining experiences in the High Country! It’s worth the wait!

If you like Family Style, great home cooking or friendly service then you need to come here! The line to wait wrapped around the corner of the porch when we got here, but it moved smoothly. Plus the grounds of the restaurant are a pleasant place to wait. After being seated, our chilled salad was waiting for us. Our waiter quickly introduced himself and explained how it all worked. Our main meal was brought out promptly. I felt everything was exceptional. The ham biscuits…oh man. The country steak was so flavorful. Another helping please! I did my best to eat everything but food won. Ha. But, I save room for the pleasant banana pudding. If I’m ever in the area again, you will find me here!

This was delicious! The wait was actually not too bad. The food and the service were amazing. I really enjoyed the fried chicken and mashed potatoes. I would definitely recommend eating here if you enjoy good, home cooked country cooking!

Overall, we drove 2 hours to get the restaurant. The wait was only about 10 minutes. We were seated with no trouble. Vegetable soup was waiting on our table to start. It was good. However it was not hot. It was just lukewarm. Good mind you but still not hot. Corn, green beans, mashed potatoes, country style steak, fried chicken, gravy and country ham biscuits was the full course of entrees and sides. It was good but there was no WOW factor as I remember when I wore a younger man’s clothes. Dessert was chocolate cake and strawberry shortcake. Both good. Please don’t let me discourage you from visiting the Daniel Boone Inn restaurant. It was good but not great to my party and I. Good food at a fair price in my opinion. Definitely not like our mother’s cooking.

Deeeeeeeeeelish. My first time here after living in Boone for 9 years, and after 3 years away. Tried it out for breakfast. Definitely need to give supper a try as well. Souther classics are my favorite so don’t be surprised. The stewed apples weee OKAY and eggs tasted like instant eggs. But everything else was TOP NOTCH

This place was amazing! I went with one other person on a Thursday at 6pm during their off season and we were sat immediately. The server was incredibly nice and gave us the run down of how the dinner worked. It is a family-style/all you can eat type of arrangement with them bringing out each dish listed on their website and they refill all of it minus their ham biscuits. It came with the most delicious chocolate cake and because it is their off season, they served chicken and dumplings. THE CHICKEN AND DUMPLINGS WERE SO GOOD! The little gift shop near the front was also adorable.

Amazing food and an even more amazing server Barbara! The food was fresh and Barbara had it out quickly. She even offered a glass of milk with my chocolate cake!

I love going here even though I have only been 3 times. I believe the first time was 35 years ago. It always creates a special memory.

Absolutely loved our visit to the Dan’l Boone Inn in Boone, NC with my wife and two daughters. The fried chicken and country-style steak were incredible, and the sides—especially the fresh green beans, corn, mashed potatoes, and country apples—tasted just like a home-cooked meal. We couldn’t pick a favorite dessert between the chocolate cake, banana pudding, and strawberry shortcake—they were all excellent. The wait to get in was totally worth it, and the family-style serving made the whole experience feel warm, welcoming, and efficient. The blooming spring flowers and beautifully kept landscaping outside added a perfect touch to the visit. A true Southern gem.

First time here but my wife and mother in law had been here years ago. They told me the food was good and they did not lie. What I didn’t know is its pretty much all you can eat but family style. They bring you a full coarse meal. To start we had veggie soup which was tasty. They they brought the whole house. From.fried chicken, hamburger steak and gravy, mashed potatoes, corn, Green beans, gravy, biscuits with country ham, cooked sweet apples, cole slaw. If you didn’t get enough or run out and want more, hey its America so we always want more, they will bring it. Everything was delicious. The steak and gravy was my favorite so flavorful. Finished off with some chocolate cake and cherry cobbler both good. As far as the location, its inside of an historic inn so it feels like your at grandmas house getting ready to eat Sunday dinner. The value was terrific for 4 adults and 1 12 yr old child the bill was 99 before tax so in 2025 that is damn good for the quality and amount of food. Overall, this is a must try when in the Boone Blowing rock area.
