What a gem. You get a good feeling when you turn into the entrance. It’s such a nice relaxing comfortable place to kick back. The food from prime rib to grilled chicken fettuccine Alfredo was perfect great flavor cooked to order. Our server Ada made us feel welcome she was johnny on the spot anytime we needed anything.

Great food, friendly people will definitely be back when I go back to Chanute. Jalapeno corn nuggets are amazing, I must add that.

Always have a great experience. I ate with 2 friends and we sat outside and had Jenna as our waitress. She was extremely sweet and made sure we had everything we needed. One of my friends asked if she was able to take a special order for a drink at the bar and Jenna was able to do so! Our drinks never went empty and food came out in a very reasonable time! Will definitely return!

Food is decent. Service could not be worse. Getting waited on is next to impossible. Ordered drinks….and never got them. Another visit sat for 30 minutes before being acknowledged. Adding details….we watched a group of 8 ladies come in with waitresses following them to get them started. When we entered a waiter was leaving the dining room. He was our waiter and never returned until we got up to leave. He then said he had been at the bar and were we leaving or staying. No apology and didn’t seem to care about whether we stayed. He just wanted to know if we were staying or leaving – and was rather sarcastic about it. Our mistake was not leaving. He was very rude during the balance of his “service”. Our initial plan had been to go to Thayer or K’s Place, but decided to give Dalton’s a chance again. Once again – the service was severely lacking. The drink lack of service was actually the last time we were there. I never did get my drink and another person in our party had to get the attention of staff twice b4 my husband got his drink.

Food was excellent, the service was wonderful, and the venue is nice. Being the owners are veteran and active duty, the one thing that stands out, is the missing man table at the entrance. Military members will reconginise it and it is an honor and privilege to see, as an honor to those missing and killed in action. Thank you for setting that table as a remembrance of our lost brothers and sisters. As a ex Army, I’m used to seeing this table at official functions, but it was extremely gratifying to see it here, what a wonderful tribute.

I had a great time at Dalton’s Back 9 Bar and Grill! The atmosphere was friendly and inviting, and the food was excellent. The staff were really helpful and accommodating. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a fun night out!

The waitress did a great job. While she was in the middle of finishing taking our order a woman came out and asked her to excuse herself bc she had an order that needed carried to a table. I tried explaining to the woman that she had asked us if we would like our appetizers before taking our order and we politely declined and said we were ready to order now and that was our fault. The woman told us that she had an order that needed to be carried out before taking our order. I tried to explain politely that it was our fault, and If we had just let her get our appetizers instead of insisted she go ahead and take our order, this may not have been an issue. Our waitress apologized profusely. My friends and I were understanding. The woman proceeded to go to her next table and also made her excuse herself there in the middle of taking their order as well. We were the only 2 tables in the room. We had 3 in our party and the others had about 6. There was a large private party in the back though. I think she should have talked to the waitress privately in the kitchen and not barade her in front of customers. Everyone does make mistakes. My steak was overcooked but I didn’t complain bc I didn’t want it to fall back on the waitress. I simply asked for a to go box and took it home. The cook and the lady who took our bill were both extremely kind. My friends and I all agreed that we felt it was more rude to leave the table in the middle of taking 3 peoples orders, especially after she was taking the 3rd person’s order when she was asked to excuse herself. We shrugged it off but after she asked her to do it again at the 2nd table in the middle of taking their order as well it made us feel bad for the young waitress and thought it was very unprofessional. The woman also had a 2nd person with her as she was scolding the waitress. Again, I think that should have been handled privately as it could have effected the waitresses tips from these 2 tables. My 2 friends and I each paid separately and tipped her appropriately but we were less than satisfied this time than when we had our class reunion there.

This place is quite nice in a pandemic setting… it is large, and was quite empty at least at opening time (4 pm on a Saturday). So we had it pretty much to ourselves, and no one else arrived except near the end of our dinner. Of course, no one—waiters, waitresses, greeter—no one was using a mask. In fact, they kind of even looked at us strangely because we were wearing masks. Oh well, I guess that that is why we are in the middle of a pandemic.
The service was excellent … a young man with excellent personality, and lots of fun banter. So that was fine.
The food was in the middle … not bad, but not spectacular. The side salad was firstrate: a salad bar that was simple, but very well organized, and the salads that we assembled were great. The baked potatoes were well baked … salty on the outside, and nicely done inside. The cod dinner was very nice, except that the actual portion of fish was perhaps a bit small. The prime rib was well served and I think well prepared, with sides au jus and different horseradish sauces. However, my wife asked for it to be cooked medium, and it was served as rare, but very rare! I ended up eating the middle part of her prime rib, and it was indeed barely cooked.
So this place is nice, and was a great end of our long day of driving in snow and ice, and it was a good meal, but it wasn’t quite perfect… good, but not great.

Excellent food and wonderful service. Place also has a nice atmosphere. Only reason it did not get 5 stars from us is that one of our party opened their silverware and their knife had soap residue all over the side of it. Otherwise excellent place.

My husband love’s the rodeo burger. Just wish they would serve homemade fries. Anxious to try the homemade chips and dip. My correction on the fries yes they were homemade. I apologize for that. I believe I was thinking of another place we ate at right around the same time.
