Disappointing Birthday Dinner Experience – Dallas BBQ Erskine Street
Dear Dallas BBQ Management,
I am writing to formally express my disappointment following a recent visit to your 911 Erskine Street location in Brooklyn, NY on January 19, 2026. I chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday with my children, expecting an enjoyable family dining experience. Unfortunately, the quality of the food and overall service fell well below expectations.
From the beginning, the meal was underwhelming. The hot wings were overcooked and tasted as though they had been reheated. The chicken tenders and fries were hard and lacked freshness. For my daughters’ entrées, one ordered the grilled salmon and the other a cheeseburger—both were noticeably dry and unappetizing. Additionally, all three bowls of macaroni and cheese served with our meal were cold and stale.
I requested to speak with a manager to address these concerns, but after waiting an extended period without any response, we ultimately paid the bill and left. While the experience itself was extremely disappointing, I still tipped our server, Miss Shanazia, as she was professional and courteous throughout our visit and clearly not responsible for the kitchen issues.
It was incredibly disheartening to have a birthday celebration ruined by such poor food quality and the lack of timely management attention. The experience was so unsatisfactory that we had to stop at a McDonald’s drive-thru on the way home to ensure my children had something enjoyable to eat.
I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to address the issues mentioned above. I would appreciate a response from your management team regarding this matter.

Yesterday was my first time going there, and most likely my last time. It’s not like the BBQ’s on Flatbush. This one was very quiet, and I did feel uninvited. And to top it off, the manager kept walking past my table while staring. A very uncomfortable feeling he gave me.
I think that my review of this location was a little rough. My food was yummy. The place was clean. My waiter was friendly. And I think the location of the restaurant may prevent it from being lively. Overall, it is a good place to check out.

We came in with a large group of 20, and everything ran smoothly. The food was hot and delicious. Sadia was an amazing server. She handled our big group with patience, she kept checking on us and made sure everyone was taken care of. We’ll definitely be back!

Service is good kinda slow with the food that’s the only complaint cause I’ve visited other BBQ in Brooklyn and Manhattan and they faster . But after that all was exceptional!! Keep it up ! The place is clean, the food tasty and fresh the drinks were delicious and the music was on point too !

Tonight around 6 PM on February 17, 2026 I was served by a young man who did not introduce himself, but I can describe him; he had on a blue cap/hat, he looked Hispanic, and was about 5’5”. His “service“ was so bad towards myself, and the child that I was with. I noticed that he only introduced himself and provided napkins, wet wipes, and small plates (which is a standard when First approaching a table and getting customers started) to tables that had a Man present.
Every other table that only had women and girls were giving subpar service, including my table. I had to wave him down repeatedly as the night went on. First of all to even order, I had to wave him down, and when he finally came over, there was no greeting, he just went into ask him what we wanted. He never bought us napkins, wet wipes, or small plates. I had to put my chicken bones on the same plate that my chicken wings were still on, and I had to ask for wet wipes by pointing to the table next to me that had a man and a woman and saying “we also need wet wipes“.
Then after 15 minutes when I did not get wet wipes, I got up and had to walk up to a manager, which was a tall Black man with a bald head, and ask to which he swiftly gave me the wipes showing me how accessible and easy it is to grab. He said to me that my server should be more attentive, and I agreed with him. He clearly knew about this server, and his lack of awareness, functionality, and overall respect for all people, regardless if there is a man at a table or not.
Because he did not introduce himself to us, I do not know his name, but I’m certain that they will know exactly who I’m talking about in this review. Also, there was a short man in a red shirt who began to sweep very aggressively next to our table after talking to the waiter, after I had repeatedly asked the waiter for ranch dressing and had to ask another man in a red shirt for dressing before I finally got it. It felt targeted with how close he was, and how hard he was sweeping like he was trying to disrupt us.
Whenever I come to Dallas BBQ with my child, we usually have a good time and a decent waiter. I understand that it is not a five star restaurant, but this was the worst experience and overall very offputting. Whenever he would pass by and say “I’m sorry do you need anything else?“ His tone felt insincere like he was just making sure that he got something for his tip, not that he was genuinely trying to make sure that we were OK, and I noticed him only doing that to the tables with women, but he never had to apologize to the tables with men because he was already on top of his job with those tables. He would give them good service, provide standard items, be personable with them and polite, and then quickly brush past myself and the other three tables that had just females and say “do you need anything else?“.
I gave him a four dollar tip because I’m a good person, but I really wanted to give him zero because that’s what he deserved.

Today, I visited and ordered from the Dallas BBQ at 911 Erskine Street in Brooklyn, NY. My 10 piece wing order tasted days old, and the center cut order of corn bread that I ordered wasn’t center cut, but instead 3 pieces of hard dough from the edges. Although, one piece looked better than the other two. I’ve never had cornbread so bad. For a total of $29.09, I find the food quality disgusting, and I’d like a refund. I will be posting this on Google and other social media outlets. It’s a shame that I can not upload the pictures or my receipt, but I’ll save them for your review. I love chicken wings, but what happened to BBQ Erskine?

First-time visit. Went for a friend’s birthday on MLK day.. 3-4 large groups but only 2 waitress. Service was beyond slow. Someone in our party didn’t receive their food. We all had to give him some of our food. 2 late comers had to go to the desk to order. I would not return especiallyon a holiday. .

The food was amazing. Me and my friend visited Sunday evening I had the salmon and shrimp combo and a pina colada. The rice was soft and delicious the salmon was cooked to perfection just the way I like it. I haven’t been this pleased in a long time. The waiter was really sweet as well. I will definitely make this my main bbqs location. Keep that chief around.
