Ok so I have been planning to try this place the last couple of years and finally chose today!

I was very impressed with everything overall. Each entree I had from the buffet had good taste. I really enjoyed the tandoori chicken, Chicken 65 and masala. The only issue I had was it was tough to get some items replenished as they were pretty busy and admittedly short staffed. Not really an issue but I’d would have loved some more chicken 65!

The service was great. Very friendly people and they were trying to keep up with the crowd. I believe there was a festival or something in the area. One gentleman it was his first day but he was hustling!

Not really sure why the negative reviews. The buffet price is reasonable honestly. Most Indian dishes I had average $14-18 so this is honestly a great deal at $21.99 for all you can eat!

Only thing I’d change is the place of plates and utensils. I believe they should be at the start of the line vs the middle. Would allow for a better traffic flow.

Best and I believe only Indian buffet in south Charlotte. Every Saturday and Sunday from 12pm-3pm. Check their Facebook before you go because they post the buffet menu for each day. Highly recommend the butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. Pair it with rice and naan bread. Lots of vegetarian options as well. The variety is different each weekend so sometimes there will be all kinds of chicken curry, clay oven baked chicken, rice, goat, lamb. I also LOVE when they have mushroom curry. They have Indian drinks and dessert. For vegetarians there’s vegetables, cauliflower, potatoes, paneer etc. There is also a reward system and you can get money off! If you love Indian buffets or want to try the food, this is the perfect place to do it.

The food here is amazing so is the service, especially the staters are to die for with right amount of spice and aromatic flavours! We are definitely coming back to Dakshin grill down soon. Thanks for your amazing hospitality.

Dakshin’s weekend buffet is a true indulgence for those who appreciate authentic Indian flavors. The vegetarian selection is impressive, featuring crisp pakoras, hot and sweet chilly gobi, Gobi 65, rich koftas, and flavorful paneer dishes. However, the real stars of the spread are — chilly Gobi, Gobi 65, succulent Chicken 65, perfectly charred tandoori, crispy fish fry, and the boldly spiced Apollo fish. For biryani enthusiasts, the Ambur and Meghna biryanis are an absolute must-try, capturing the essence of regional flavors.

Beyond the buffet, Dakshin also offers a delightful breakfast spread with classics like soft idlis, comforting pongal, and crispy medhu vadas, served with an array of delicious chutneys. To complete the experience, their mango lassi is an absolute favorite—a rich, creamy, and refreshing treat that perfectly balances the bold flavors of the meal. The spread is thoughtfully curated, and the authenticity of the dishes shines through, making Dakshin a prime destination for those craving a hearty and flavorful South and North Indian feast.

This was our first time trying this place out. It’s a Sunday afternoon, and we had the buffet. We’re always hesitant to try buffets, because we don’t want to eat food that has been sitting at room temp for hours. This is as not a concern here! There were so many people eating here, that the food was constantly being refilled with freshly cooked food. Everything we tried was SOOOOOO delicious! We look forward to coming back and having more. We also look forward to going on nights that they have DJs, karaoke, and hopefully soon they’ll add belly dancing fun too! We met Jignesh and his wife; they were so friendly and welcoming and look forward to adding these fun nights to the Ballantyne area.

Went here with my wife for our 10 year wedding anniversary last night. We had a really nice evening. Food was great and the curries we had were excellent. Service was fairly slow, but they were very busy with take out orders. Our food came out extremely hot and fresh though, so no real complaints.

We started with the samosas. I forgot to take a picture, but the order only came with two. That was fine for us, but be aware of with a group.

Next we ordered our mains. I had medium spice Chicken Tikka Masala. It had a pleasant spiciness and the flavor was beautiful. My wife ordered the Palak Paneer which was the best thing we had all night. So smooth, so creamy, so delicious. A must try when you visit. We also shared some garlic naan and a Lamb Biryani. The lamb biryani was also very good and had a nice complexity of flavors.

We wanted to try their Lassi’s but they told us they were out of the ingredients to make it. Quite disappointing, but I will try again next time.

This was our first experience with Indian cuisine in Charlotte, and it did not disappoint. I would say come by and give it a shot, if only to try the Palak Paneer. Truly excellent, and one of the best I have had around the world.

This is easily the best Indian restaurant in charlotte. They’ve got a unique menu with items not seen at many other restaurants. Last time I went we got the Bisi Bele Bhath or Khichidi and it was phenomenal. I’m not sure I’ve seen this anywhere else. It is a nice change of pace to eat at more of a south Indian restaurant.

Ive been in this city for the past 8 months and hands down this is the BEST Indian restaurant I’ve been to. The chefs have mastered the art of incorporating authentic Indian spices and flavour and they produce a variety of dishes. Along with the food the people who work here are very patient and helpful, I was so confused with what to order and they patiently took me through the entire menu. Lastly, for the quantity and taste I think the price is a perfect match. Would 100% recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to try what Indian food is like and also to those who want to reminisce about food from back home.
