I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PLACE!!! Coming from the south, finding a decent soul food place was tough especially in Harford County! The atmosphere is beautiful. Walking in feels like walking into ya family’s kitchen on good day! Always receive service with a small. Family owned! I love how personable it is! Recommend 1000xs over! As a picky eater I usually go to restaurants and find one thing on the menu but this place makes me want to everything on the menu. And coming from someone who doesn’t eat pork, I love that I have plenty of options.. Today I tried their brown stew chicken cause I’m not a big fan of oxtails but love their flavor. I was able to get something different and enjoy it! I could go on forever about why and how I love this place. It’s a touch of back home! And who doesn’t love a home cooked meal!

Wow! We were first of all excited to find a soul food restaurant in Harford county. After moving here from the south, it was a must. This was our first time trying this restaurant and it’s a PLUS that they serve genuine soul food made with love. You can tell! There were so many selections that we didn’t know where to start so we had the oxtails, fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, yams, collard greens and Jazzy wings. Everything was delicious and hot AND fresh! We felt like we were being catered to and we were accommodated well. My husband wanted dark meat chicken and I wanted white meat so the gentleman made us a COMBO chicken plate so we could each have our preference! The cornbread was delicious, served hot and tastes like cake. A very unique twist on traditional and sometimes dry cornbread. I highly recommend this place. We will certainly be back!

The food was not good. My wings was soggy barely had sauce on them. I asked for them to be fried extra hard! My cheesesteak had big chunks of onions nd clearly the onion wasn’t peeled properly. My son said the Mac taste like it was old. The food is still here on the table. Complete waste!! Save your money people!!

I’ve tried eating here 3 times. I keep trying to give it a chance as it’s a struggle to find “soul food” nearby but I’m absolutely done after the 3rd time. I recently ordered brown stew chicken, mac and cheese, and string beans. When I say everything was disgusting, I do not consider what I had as “soul food”. It was more like play food, I mean the mac and cheese tasted and looked like kraft, I’ve never had mac and cheese that taste or looked how that did. The string beans didn’t have a lick of seasoning, no meats, no onions. It’s like they just pour them straight out the can. And the brown stew.. I’ve never had brown stew that tasted so flavorless and bland. And the cornbread was just a slice of vanilla cake. I love cornbread and have never not liked any cornbread I’ve ordered out, but their cornbread was literally not cornbread. I give it two stars because atleast the food was edible, but I’m absolutely done giving this restaurant chances.

App was easy to use, has pictures and food descriptions. I picked up my order on time and it was being bagged as I came it which is great because I had to get back to work. The atmosphere was pleasant and laid back from what I could see in the few minutes I was there. My catfish egg sandwich was delicious, it sounded interesting, Im glad I tried it. They also have ordering screens inside the store, I suppose you could use them if they are busy or you are a introvert. Overall, I give them 5 stars, I will probably order more often now that there is an app. Oh and you get points for your orders, not sure how that works yet, but seems like a good thing.

Tried to get a nice turkey legs and mash potatoes. No mash available. Then I got the jerk salad instead. It was not prepared well. It was just chicken pieces with bones thrown on top of a salad vs actual chopped pieces. Lacking effort yet there was no line of people behind me at lunch.

Best soul food I’ve had in Maryland BY FAR. It’s in contention for best soul food I’ve ever had and I lived in SC for years. Staff is just as good as the food. Some of these reviews complain about pricing but you get what you pay for, and some. Definitely coming back for more oxtail, collards, and Mac. Lots of stuff you can try as well. Absolutely worth the trip.

Okay, so I was super excited to try this soul food spot in Edgewood, I just moved to the area not too long ago and I love soul food. So my experience was subpar, as you can see I ordered Catfish, Mac n cheese and yams. The Mac and cheese was the left over bits from the pan, it wasn’t a fresh or even good scoop, it was the ending of the pan I can tell because it wasn’t really bonded together and it had a funny cheese on it maybe Gouda, not sure. The Yams were also a mixture of reheated left over yams, not a fresh scoop either. The yams were taking like they were either left out all day and added to another pan to make my scoop, very disappointing. Nevertheless the star of the show was the catfish, it had ammmmmaaazing flavor, I would definitely go back for the Catfish even though it didn’t seemed like it was throughly drained before added to the paper in the container it packed so much flavor. Wayyyyyy more flavor than “Honey on the Bay” I would definitely try their catfish again, idk bout the sides. I’m side eyeing the sides.

Great atmosphere, personable staff, excellent food. I’ll bring people here whenever they say “what’s good to eat around here.” Not many places can make instagram-worthy food, but this place does! The best collard greens I’ve had since moving out of the south.
