We had a wonderful experience for our child’s birthday party. The entire staff was phenomenal, attentive, and made sure everything ran smoothly. It was a large party (almost 30 kids) and they handled it without hesitation. All the kids had a blast, and we didn’t have to do anything. Highly recommend!!

We ordered 40 small blizzards for a party and everything was so seamless and amazing. Delivered on time and made fresh, it was a huge hit at our party and will definitely be ordering again for catering/parties as well as general ice cream needs. This Dairy Queen is always so clean and the staff is courteous and friendly. This location has plenty of tables to sit down and enjoy your frozen treat or they can help you organize and host a small party or gathering. Orange Julius is served here as well. The prices are reasonable and there is free parking. The store can get crowded after school and weekends, but they always keep the wait line orderly and moving.

I live right down the street, and this place gets really packed at night. The last time I was here, the line moved pretty good for the most part, but they could probably use more workers to help with better flow.
As someone who is gluten and dairy free, I greatly appreciate that they have non-dairy dilly ice cream bars. When I want a late night treat, I know I can grab one of these bars.

I’m extremely disappointed with the birthday party experience at the Dairy Queen in Plainfield. The party was scheduled to start at 5:30 PM, but I arrived at 5:00 PM to make sure everything was ready — a few kids arrived early and simply sat at the tables. Despite that, the owner later made a point to say she was “being nice” by not charging me $120 for those 30 minutes, during which absolutely nothing happened.
The food situation was beyond underwhelming. We were told there would be plenty of food, but what the kids were served was laughable: a tiny hot dog, a small shared bowl of chips (for four kids!), and a tiny piece of pretzel. Thank goodness I had ordered pizza myself, or the kids would have left hungry.
They gave the kids a 10-minute look at how Blizzards are made, and my daughter decorated her cake for about 10 minutes. We even paid an additional $30 for the cake to be decorated — which felt like just another extra charge for very little effort or value. The part where the kids were supposed to decorate their own ice cream was also misleading — they were handed a cup of ice cream and a pinch of sprinkles. That was it.
To make things worse, I was charged the full $27.99 per child for two little ones who only ate a small ice cream from the fridge and didn’t participate in any of the activities. The owner even pointed out that she didn’t charge me for five bottles of water — as if that was a generous favor.
I ended up using plates from my pizza order because they had no extras, and when I asked for more plates or even straws, none were provided.
Overall, I personally found the service lacking, the experience overpriced, and the party poorly executed. This is just my opinion based on our experience, but I would not recommend this location for hosting any kind of event.
