I went inside recently and was the only customer in the store, with about four employees working. Despite that, it still took over 10 minutes just to get two small Blizzards. The store itself was in terrible condition, garbage cans were overflowing, the floors were so sticky that my flip flop literally came off my foot while walking out, and everything just looked dirty.
It was a very disappointing experience, especially since DQ is usually a reliable spot for a quick treat. This location needs serious attention to cleanliness and customer service.

8/13/25 11am Chilli Dod pic. 3/30/25 Noon. Fish sandwich. 1st bite a little fishy and then all good, flakey, flavorful and hot temp. 12/22/24 Good experience. Friendly, knowledgeable and professional young woman taking care of us. Lots of windows. Light shined thru. Good food, warm and tasty. We had the $7 cheese burger meal and the same in the chicken finger.

I just had an irritating experience at this location. So it’s Sunday morning around 11AM and me and my sister both place a mobile order, mine cheese curds and a peppermint bark blizzard, hers a burger, pretzel bites and a slush. So I go inside to get our mobile orders and they hand me the drinks and my blizzard is brown??? So I go up to the counter and ask if they used chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla and the teenage employee says that since they are out of peppermint bark they made me just a different seasonal blizzard from their menu. This is unacceptable. I paid for the peppermint bark, I expect peppermint bark. Why pick a different blizzard that you find similar when it’s not what I paid for? They should’ve just waited until I got there and asked what blizzard I would like instead. Then they also forgot my sister’s cheese dip for her pretzel bites! I don’t understand how employees during nowhere near peak can be so carless and inconsiderate. Teach your teenage employees to do their job right the first time and have reasonable cognitive skills to ensure customer satisfaction.

EDIT: 9/13 – I’ve stopped ordering online and going to the store. The lake Elmo store has to be the worse Dairy Queen I’ve ever been to. I’ve been 4 times and 3 out of the 4 times our two blizzards have been made wrong, the ice cream has been extremely soupy, and every employee that I have communicated with at the store have terrible attitudes. The owners must never go because the store is in shambles in every aspect.
Ordered via Door dash, ice cream was delivered with no lids or covers and completely melted. I hope this new Dairy Queen can figure out their delivery safety precautions and put seals and covers going forward. Very disappointing!

I know it’s a bunch of kids that work here but the owner needs to step up and get their heads on straight. On 3 occasions, I have gotten the completely wrong food or dessert in the drive thru.
I wasn’t surprised to see others complaining about service or store conditions in these reviews.
This is lazy and cheap on the owners part not wanting to ensure your store is being run properly. Report this to Dairy Queen corporate so the owner gets their store straight.

Thank you so much for your generosity. After a long day of begging for money , this place was exactly what I needed. I also wanted to mention how accommodating the employees were to my needs. One employee even offered me some cardboard boxes, which I am incredibly grateful for. I now have a living room, and life is good!

The manager definitely needs to step up his training. No napkins. They forget things every time. Melted ice cream within 5 minutes. And yes no napkins.

Growing pains? We decided to try the “new” DQ near Woodbury. Unfortunately, not a good dining experience. It started with the guy in front of us was bringing back his food because it was prepared wrong. I ordered a peanut butter parfait blizzard, and got, “we don’t make those.” I explained how to make it… It came, but was all vanilla soft serve on the bottom–not mixed well. On top of that, they charged me an extra dollar for “toppings”. Isn’t that what Blizzards are made of?? I had two, peanuts and cold fudge.
My wife ordered a Diet Coke Freeze. Again, “we only make root beer freezes”.
We won’t be back.
I wish you better luck if you eat here.
