I usually enjoy Blizzards from DQ, but this time was a complete letdown. We were really looking forward to a cool treat after a long, hot hike through the Maquoketa Caves, but the kids were totally disappointed. What I got looked and tasted more like a milkshake watery, poorly mixed, and definitely not Blizzard quality. It didn’t even pass the upside down test.. After walking so much in the heat, they were expecting something refreshing and satisfying, but this fell way short.
I asked the staff about it, but there was no proper response. I specifically spoke to Pogi, but unfortunately, I didn’t get any real help or solution. For the price, it just wasn’t worth it. Really disappointed with the experience.

Went there today for the BLIZZARD special. Second time I’ve had a blizzard & there’s no improvement! If not for the butter of the peanut butter cups, it would have been blah, blah, blah! Just the ice cream is no way to make a shake. Flavor should be added!
Plus the girl who wait on us wasn’t pleasant. She wasn’t rude but no “hello”, no smile, no small talk! She didn’t want to be there! The yucky blizzard & unwelcoming customer service ~ I don’t think I’ll be going back! Get a recipe from Whitey’s!!!

I swear the kids serving us were 11-13 years old and they messed up my sundae and forgot to bring me my new one. And the chicken strip basket had TINY chicken strips and barely any food in the big box. The dining area was dirty and the garbage was overflowing.

Had the chicken strip basket, fine as fast food goes. Added cheeseballs to my order again fine for fastfood. Nothing to really brag about.

Having given up ice cream for Lent, and seeing all the commercials for the “Confetti Cake Blizzard” I was so excited to stop there with my hubby Wednesday evening 4/23. I ordered a large one & was never more disappointed about ice cream in my life! I expected pieces of cake, frosting, I guess something other than what I got ~ which was a large vanilla ice cream Blizzard with tiny candies mixed in. Absolutely nothing else! Not one single crumb of cake. It was a Confetti Cake BLAH!
**Dear owner, WHY would I want to spend more money on something that was horrible? That’s crazy! Offer me a FREE one & show me that the Blizzard is better than what I had & I’ll be back!!

Stopped in on 5/8/25 around 6:40pm to eat dinner with my 6 year old. The food was great. However, the very loud conversation the high school aged employees were having was absolutely disgusting and inappropriate to be having while at work where customers can hear. Cussing, talking about how many raccoons could fit up someone’s a$$, eating their grandma’s a$$, talking about slashing people’s tires, etc. I didn’t need to hear all of that while I was trying to eat, and neither did my 6 year old son!!! They weren’t even trying to be quiet about it. Apparently they closed the lobby at 7 tonight. As my son and I were going to walk out of the restaurant, some others came up to the door. Of course the employees were complaining about them. I made sure to let the people who were trying to get in, know that they wouldn’t want to eat in there, after hearing the conversations we heard. My apologies to everyone who reads this review and the disgusting details in it. If you think its inappropriate for me to put it in the review, just remember, I had to hear it in person while trying to eat. However, the owners need to know how their employees act while customers are in the restaurant. This isn’t the first time that I’ve had horrible customer service at this location. Normally, I would just let it go, but the conversation we heard tonight needs to be addressed! I understand that it’s hard to find help, but, come on Maquoketa DQ owners….DO BETTER!!!!

When i walked in to get my mobile order there was a bunch of cussing and rushing becuase it wasnt . They were not busy. My order wasn’t ready which is not the issue. The judging of the order and
being made correctly is my issue. I normally check before i leave but id didnt. I will never be ordering from the app anymore. Also since when had there chicken sandwich been made of chicken.

This is twice now we have attempted to go into the lobby at DQ and the doors are locked at 5 pm. No sign on the door, no notice or explanation. Probably not going to return to this location due to this issue.
