Canton’s Best-Kept Secret! Exotic Burgers and World-Class Onion Rings!
Dairy Palace is hands-down one of the best hidden gems in Canton! It has that perfect nostalgic diner vibe, and the menu is full of surprises.
I decided to try the Elk Burger, and it was absolutely amazing—such a flavorful, high-quality patty that makes this place a destination for exotic meats. But the real showstopper? The onion rings. They are truly out of this world; crispy, perfectly seasoned, and easily the best I’ve ever had.
If you are passing through Canton for Trade Days or just looking for a genuinely great meal, you must stop at Dairy Palace. It’s an unforgettable experience and a local institution for a reason!

Driving by I-20 you would never know this place existed and as a result you may never find out how good the food is. I went to this place in the late 90’s for breakfast and than saw the place off and on while traveling up and down the highway. This time we ran out of places to stop and decided to stop here. What a lucky break. The place was busy and jam packed on a Sunday afternoon. Still we found a table for two immediately. You place the order at the counter and wait for it to be called and brought to the table. Service was quick and we got the food fast.
I ordered The Ranch Hand burger from the Signature items list which is at the bottom of the rest of the burgers listing and I thought I was taking a chance. It turned out to be perfect choice because the the burger I got was beyond fantastic. The meat patty was large and juicy, just the right amount of cheese and topped with fried onion rings plus the pickle on a hand tossed bun. The hand tossed bun by itself was worth writing home about (ha). The burger was delicious and big enough to fill the plate. What you see in the picture is half the burger and I wanted to show the inside deliciousness of the burger. It came with Texas style BBQ sauce.
We ordered fries too and the burger came with fries. And yes… fries were thick and meaty and worth every bite.
Other items included breakfast food which looked delicious too.
Menu includes other signature burgers and if my burger was any indication… they are all probably just as tasty.
If you are driving around Canton, TX this place is a must stop and you will love the vibe of an old fashioned burger joint. But don’t let the old fashioned moniker stop you from going there because sometimes… maybe all the time… you need old fashioned burger joint to satisfy your hunger. Menu is vast and full of choices. You probably will have difficulty deciding but that would be a good thing because there are so many choices.
Bon appetite.

I know alot of locals think this place is great. I however do not and this is the third time I have tried this place and won’t make the mistake again. I ordered two breakfast burritos with extra bacon and tater tot. The burritos had less than one egg on each (more cheese then egg) supposed to have grilled onions which we ended up with only two little pieces. The bacon was a fair amount, cheese never melted because it was cold This is the worst breakfast burrito I think I have ever had. I even showed the man who brought it out to my car and he proudly said “yes” this is what you get for 18 dollars. He did offer to take it back but really if this is what they believe is okay to serve then I have the choice to not return.

Had the Elk burger. And the wife had the 1/3 lb reg burger. I didn’t order the normal plum sauce though. It came on a weird wheat bun. The meat was dry even after plastering it mustard and ketchup and had a different taste. Not too bad. But I wouldn’t order it again. $11.50? I think it needs season all for a better flavor. The place is cool and they make a lot of kinds of burgers

Very great foods here and inexpensive too. They serve many options and combos such as Hog burgers, sliders, Quesadillas, pancakes, ice cream, tatter tots, breakfast burritos. For drinks they serve water, sodas and cappuccinos.
Great place for truckers and travelers who are looking for cheep but good quality options.

Ordered fried mushrooms, bacon burger with fries, steak fingers with fries, chicken fried chicken, and chicken fried steak with fried pickles. I have to be honest, I think this place is overrated. The mushrooms were ok. The burger was overcooked. The meat was cold and flavorless. The rest of the food was just ok. No one was crazy about the breading. The pickles were also bad. There was also something wrong with the soft drinks. Three different types of drinks and all lacked syrup. So the drinks had very taste. I did like the fries. The service was great. There was a line to order. The food came out quickly, considering how many orders were made before us. Taste is subjective, but preparation is not.
