We went in for soft serve and a footlong. Soft serve machine was down, but we had a choice to get some Kroger and Walmart branded ice cream from the case. So we passed.
I ordered a footlong. Nope, they were out of those too. Yes, at Dairy Bell, “Home of the Footlong”, they did not have any footlongs. So I was told I could do two hot dogs instead. I had mustard, onion, sauce and slaw on it. Boyfriend ordered a fried chicken sandwich. Well, we were told they were out of tomato.
The girl who took out order (don’t know her name, but she was shorter, brown hair) said our total was $10 and change. As soon as she took our card, the total went to $20. We asked why and she said there was a charge to use our card. Really..? Before we could ask for our card back, she says, hang on, I made a mistake, I overcharged you. So she did some calculations and then we were told $15 and change. We took our card back (we’re still hoping it wasn’t charged, were keeping an eye on our statement) decide to pay in cash, and before we handed her the money, she said no wait, it was $12. So at this point, we paid, and walked into the corner of the restaurant to wait. There were three people in line back of us.
We stood and waited for about 8 or 9 minutes and the girl that rang us up comes over to us with a cup and says “here’s your milkshake”. We told her we didn’t order one, and she says, “I coulda swore you did”. The word milkshake never was mentioned between any of us lol. So she goes back into the kitchen, and brings out 2 hotdogs that looked like mine. She goes past us and gives it to the people who ordered AFTER us. At this point, were just like, so over everything. When we finally got our food bag, we left immediately and went to the car to eat.
We were given two sad chicken tenders on a sandwich and…there was tomato on it, miraculously, despite her saying there was no tomato. It smelled very off, like old, burnt cooking oil. The chicken was extremely dry, but temperature hot.
My hot dogs were below room temperature. The hot dog itself was lukewarm, tasted like a cheap quality one you’d get at the dollar tree. The sauce was cold and had no flavor at all, and the onions on top had a very funky smell. Like, a bleach smell, that’s the best I can describe it.
Our food was horrible, just like the service. Only after we spread the word about our experience to family and friends, were we warned that we should not have eaten there, as many people have been reported having not only terrible service but also food poisoning here. So, at the time of writing this, my stomach definitely doesn’t feel great… my disappointment in this place is beyond immeasurable.
Please, please, please, BE WARNED BEFORE YOU EAT HERE!!!
Today was the grand opening under new ownership and new management.
Tried the Panther Paw and I loved it! It was massive and delicious! Would 100% eat again. I’d eat another one now if I still wasn’t so full. Also, I probably wouldn’t be so full if I hadn’t eaten the regular hotdog first or chased my burger with a small chocolate shake. By the way, the sauce on my hot dog was actually quite tasteful. I’m going to have to go back for onion rings and cheese sticks. Perhaps a chicken sandwich. My sister had the chicken basket and said the chicken was really good.
Despite it being the first day under new management and everyone being anxious/nervous they did really well!!!
