We came in and found our table with the reserve sign on. Once we sat, a waiter appeared to take the sign away and gave a cursory hello and left. We were lucky enough to notice a little sign on the table that said to order at the counter as the waiter never said anything! We decided what we wanted and went to order. The lady at the counter was friendly and helpful. For me it was chicken kimchi miso ramen with extra noodles and for my brother it was chicken black sesame ramen with extra karaage chicken. With a bottle of plum Jinro, £11, the bill came to £30. Not cheap. Never had Jinro before and it was a real find. Fruity and full of punch, though it didn’t seem like it at the time. Food arrived promptly and it was delicious. I was a bit thrown by the cold kimchi and egg, but it worked. The dish was very flavoursome with plenty of umami. The Karaage chicken was succulent and perfectly battered, the ramen was also perfectly cooked. The miso was full of flavour. I can highly recommend this dish. For dessert I had the chocolate doaryki which was tasty but, served surprisingly at room temperature. The service is a bit lacking, hence 4*, maybe because we went mid week and they don’t have as many people working, though there was a slow constant stream of guests whilst we were there. This place is all about the food. I am not a novice but newish to Japanese food and my daughter who is 12 and far cooler than I’ll ever be wanted to go.
We were joined by my 9 year old son and booked in for 7:30 on a Saturday. Good job we booked the place was packed.
You have to order yourself at the bar (that took a while to figure out) and there was a queue that took over ten minutes with a little waitress struggling to fit past carrying heavy trays of food. This was not ideal. Then the food took around 45 minutes so I had to entertain the children by teaching them how to gamble money. Again not ideal.

My oh my…
It was worth it. Soft roasted pork in a deep tasty broth with loads of side dippy bits (don’t sleep on these!). Washed down with a couple of crisp pints of Asahi beer… Oh yeah, it’s my weekend too.
An actual kids menu (£7 for a ramen!!! Absolute BARGAIN), gluten free and vegan menus so no excuses really!
The staff were down to earth and approachable and my overall experience was brilliant.
Went last night and if I could I’d go again tonight.
Try it. Its proper lush!

popped in after work tonight, I had the chicken skewers and prawn fries. the chicken tasted soft and processed ! and definitely didn’t taste of chicken, the prawns were okay. The chicken kimchi miso came out looking lovely but the broth was gross, the onions and other veg tasted off. the egg was falling apart (fine but i’d rather a full egg that’s hard boiled) everything was not fresh or even cooked properly, the bamboo shoots were rock hard and nothing had any nice taste. I can eat a lot and I eat japanese food a lot but i left the whole bowl of ramen and I’ve left with an awful stomach pain. really disappointed and probably won’t return, I suggest going another 10 minutes to wagamamas. they’re nowhere close

Food excellent, lacks welcome, lack of signage as to what you are to do on arrival?? menu’s very poor had one with pictures and what you could have, price, no description, so if you are new to this cuisine there’s no help/guidance, I will add the separate GF menu is a good idea, FOH non existent and the wait was very long for this style of food. I’d think twice about going out for meal there only thing I’d go back for is the food.

We ordered ramen to take out. Not the best ramen I’ve had, the miso soup was okay but the mix of vegetables wasn’t great and they needed something extra like tofu or crunchy greens, and more seasoning. Not worth more than £10.
The vegetable dumplings were, however, really tasty and came with a sauce on the side.
The lady that served us was really friendly and helpful so great service, and the decor was nice.

Great food, cooked freshly when ordered. A sensible selection of Ramen and Rice dishes and some sides. Nice selection of drinks. You take an order up to the counter and get a buzzer to collect food when cooked – simple and easy! It is a popular place, you can probably walk in at lunchtime but worth booking on a busy evening.

Great Asian food experience in Stroud
When we entered we noticed the lovely decoration on the walls, typical Asian style but nicely welcoming.
The menu is basic but does the job as it is essentially a ramen joint with some nice sides and toppings.
We ordered a ramen and the chicken korean rice bowl. The ramen was a 4/5, and the chicken was a 5/5.
Staff were incredible and friendly so makkng a great experience.
Recommendation
Go enjoy some lovely Asian food.

We ate here a couple of weeks ago after being recommended by friends. Two of us are vegan and it was quite disappointing the type of tofu served with the ramen and the amount of soya protein. The tofu was barely there, it seemed more like bits of tofu skin. It would be great if they could offer a more substantial tofu offering as the noodles and broth were lovely!

Generally good food but the Raman was splashed with cold ingredients so not as piping hot as to be ideally palatable.
One of these irritating restaurants which expects upfront payment and asks for a tip when you walk in. Several idle waiters but no table service.
No passing traffic, pedestrianised, so evenings very quiet in here only one or two guests at 7.30 weekday, double that in largely idle staff. I’m gonna guess unless running on funny money, this restaurants closing soon.
