The restaurant is very pretty, and we enjoyed the convenience of it being attached to the mall, but we had a disappointing meal.

We ordered a chirashi and a roll for lunch. I’ll give kudos for the presentation, but this was like a kid’s meal I have never seen such skimpy portions of fish— for both chirashis and rolls— at any other Japanese restaurant. I could probably hold the sum of all of the raw fish in the palm of my hand. And for $50 total, the quality did not make up for the portioning.

Do not recommend.

We ordered many items from the menu, the only dish that tastes like Japanese food is the instant miso soup.

The rice is not the Japanese short grain rice. It’s hard and not as sticky.

The steak is not seasoned, just had teriyaki sauce pour over it. The medium rare steak is tough and cold.

Tempura dish has the old oil smell.

Raw fish appears dry.

Even the radish is a mush of carrots.

Service is rushed. The waitresses spoke so fast with a strong accent, we could understand only some of it.

Go else where for Japanese food.

Best Japanese restaurant my wife and I have around Chestnut Hill.

The place can be a bit hard to find if you’re already inside the mall. It’s located inside Bloomingdales. If you’re inside the mall, then just enter blooming dales and hug the left side corner. You’ll find the entrance to Daikanyama. They typically have a tarp out, showing the menu.

I would highly recommend the Tempura. Any of them. Vegetable, shrimp, seafood tempura, all of them are great. They fry it to perfection. The only thing is that their tempura sauce tends to be on the bland and gingery side, but the overall taste blends well together. If you’re on a budget, then make sure to head here for lunch as the lunch sets are, on average, $10 cheaper.

There is an abundance of free, open-air parking around the mall complex, so you’ll almost never run out of places to park. 5 stars, can’t wait to go back.

I had a wonderful experience at Daikanyama! I went here for my friend’s birthday, and it was perfect for a special occasion. All the food tasted very fresh and flavorful.

Our server Cindy was so attentive and friendly to us as well. She made recommendations and was so efficient! I would definitely come back again

Sushi, salads, and seafood all amazing.

We got soft-shell crab, maki rolls, noodles, lamb chops and a bunch of other stuff. Everything was fresh, well-packaged & delicious.

Call them for takeout (you can’t use an app) and you can pay over the phone. When I went to pick up, they gave me everything literally in 2 seconds!

I am normally not fond of having food at a mall though this restaurant can be accessed both from the mall plus has its separate entrance and which allows them to be independent from mall hours. They have good quality sushi. The staff is friendly and the place is inviting. On weekend evenings, a reservation is recommended .

Went for lunch and got the sushi and sashimi special. The sushi was well made and fresh, albeit a bit on the small side compared to their peers. The combo did come with miso soup, salad, and a small appetizer plate with so the value turned out to be very good in my opinion. The servers were very attentive.
