Origin of Dagu Rice Noodle. But the noodles would always be cold by the time they arrived at the island. One day, the wife discovered that the chicken soup she sent to her husband was still hot. She soon figured out that the thick oil in the chicken broth preserved heat and that the rice noodle tasted better if not boiled together with the chicken broth. The wife then started separating the chicken broth, rice noodle, and other ingredients and combined them altogether only after they have arrived at her husband’s place. The rice noodles tasted so good that the cooking method soon spread across the city. Local people named the dish crossing the bridge noodles in honor of the wife as she had needed to cross a bridge to the island every day.

The place is clean, every staff is friendly and attentive. No matter you want a good meal or a quick snack, you can always find something here. Highly recommend!
The start was a bit awkward since they could not seat all five of us and placed us near an exit, but they tried. I appreciated how they accommodated a friend with a peanut allergy by swapping ingredients. The staff stayed attentive and kind despite the slight language barrier.
We ordered Signature rice noodle with braised bone-in pork for entree. I like the super boiling broth, the mild flavor suits me well but my bf preferred more flavor dish so next time he will try the spicy one. For appetizers, we had:
– Marinated pork bone
– Deep-fried spring roll
– Deep-fried mini bun
– Fried fish tofu
– Brown sugar sticky rice
All appetizers are good. We had so much so we to-go the mini bun. When I reheated the mini bun in microwave at home, it get harden (I put them up for 1 minute but maybe that’s too long) and hard to eat so I would suggest not reheat the bun in microwave if you had it to-go or overnight in the fridge.
We had hot tea and hot soy milk for drink order. It was a cold night out so we didn’t get to try their fancy cold drink. It’s fresh soy milk, not those from the can or bottle, so it’s a plus to me.
Overall we had a good experience. We also like how late at night the restaurant open; it helps a lot with us night owl people. Definitely recommend!
Previous times we got the Dagu Rice Noodle Bowl that the restaurant is known for. That’s awesome. Go with a group and split something new .. you’ll find other hidden gems!
Fruit tea was great but I think a little too bitter for my boy. Maybe offer people if they want diff level of sweetness would be awesome. Our server Halen was very friendly and courteous.
Came back for second visit and the food was consistently satisfying and delicious!
Highly recommend trying this place if you are in the area!

I have been here about 10 times Since they just started business. Sadly I saw them worse and worse. Today is a new low. The beef starter was sliced more than 10mm per piece and so hard to chew. It suppose to be about 3 mm. And they refuse to admit they are lazy today and keep telling me it is always like that. I know they are lying because I have ordered this starter many times. If the manager is reading this, you should work harder on the management. I understand today is new year eve and nobody want to work. But I paid for the food. And I will never be there again.
