Great family run restaurant. The service is relaxing, relatively direct and friendly. The hot tea was served right away and the menu suggestions were solid. Definitely recommend if you are in Rochester and looking for a great Asian restaurant as they serve Chinese and Pho.

We walked into a quiet restaurant just opening up. The friendly staff greeted, sat, and served us water and then warm tea. They were extremely helpful and willing to provide food recommendations; be sure to give their recommendations strong consideration. The shrimp spring rolls were good, and the pan seared pork dumplings were delicious and so was the pho with duck. I recommend this place and will be back.

Authentic Chinese BBQ! What a surprise! The owners are Cantonese Chinese born in vietnam. They specialize in Chinese BBQ and make everything in house. We had the duck, honey bbq pork, and Roast pig, all were excellent. Check out the pic of the duck. Very little fat. Amazingly done . The roast piglet had crunchy skin. Wow! The chow fun was made from fresh wide noodles. Yum yum yum! Pho was also very flavorful. There were just two owners working and food took a while. But the wait was truly worth it. Prices were low, especially for the quality of the food you get. Really amazing place!

don’t take pho here, especially with roasted duck.
feels like they just grabbed all the garbage duck bones from the kitchen and threw them in my plate. besides lady looked like Chinese, vietnamese and Chinese are totally different kitchens. I mean that’s what happen when Chinese try to make there own pho. technically just noodles in broth with lots of cut duck bones…
plus everything is super slow. didn’t like the attitude. not all the guests are naive americans, lots of people visited Asia and tried food there. I’m a truck driver – made extra efforts to get some nice pho here. . instead got noodles with duck bones. would I recommend? nah – tons of other places around..

If you’re in downtown Rochester and looking for some authentic Vietnamese food Dac Hoa is a great choice. The dumplings are hand made, get them pan fried instead of steamed and you’ll be in heaven. Being an authentic Asian restaurant if you order the roasted duck it will have bones in it, just a pre warning. The pho is delicious, if you like it spicy be sure to ask for some chili oil and they’ll bring out the real spice for you!

I went here with several friends yesterday to get some Pho because the other more notable places were closed. I would not recommend getting Pho here. This is basically a Chinese food place that serves some Vietnamese dishes as well. They have two menus, a Chinese food menu and also a Vietnamese food menu as well.

There was only one server and it was a very old lady who was serving several tables at once. I literally felt so bad for her which is why I am not really complaining about our meal. She was super nice, however it did take over an hour for us to get our food. Once again though, given the conditions we totally understood and still had an okay time. I would maybe go back again and try their Chinese dishes instead, however I wouldn’t really recommend trying the Pho as there are much better places.

Place doesn’t look like much, but very authentic and delicious food. The duck pho was great and I cannot wait to go again and try their other dishes.

Waited for at least 15 mins past listed opening time and it’s still closed. Won’t change my rating of 2-stars until I go next time and actually dine here.

PS, Owner replied “Don’t bother changing your review. Chances are, if you’re not happy with our pace now, you won’t be happy with our service. We wish you the very best in terms of dining. May you have a happier life somewhere else. Also, please read our customer reviews about time as we do take a long time. It won’t change for the foreseeable future, and we don’t want to waste your time nor ours if you aren’t going to be happy with it.”

PPS: The only problem I had was being disappointed that your place was not open per the listed hour. If you are not going to change for the foreseeable future, at least change the listed opening hours. I’m actually helping your business by criticizing you. Humble yourself. I stated I was going to revisit again and here you are assuming that I won’t like your service, as the owner. Imagine having the owner tell the customers that they certainly will not like the place? Also, do I have to read all the reviews at a place before I can eat?

Amazing food! Very friendly. Freshly prepared and made to order. This is not a fast food type place and the taste of the food and presentation was amazing and worth the wait. Can’t wait to go back!
