If you like good Italian food, you will like this restaurant. We shared a pizza to start and then each of us had a pasta. Of course we had some nice Italian wine. The pizza and pasta were very enjoyable. We would recommend and if in the area again we will repeat.

The atmosphere was amazing, food great. I made a reservation for 2 for Valentine’s Day! Upon arrival, walked inside the doors, no signs indicating I required seating but with having a reservation I only assumed I’d be fine seating myself in the only available second viable seating option away from the door. (Cold day here in NB) but once my husband arrived the server approached us and told us we hadn’t waiting for him to seat, I said there was no one offering to seat, I APOLOGIZED and asked if he would rather us sit elsewhere (only one other option closest to the door) he said “no no you already seated yourself that’s ok I guess” server was very awkward and sales pushy, when I asked for 2 glasses to share 8.5 (usually a 9oz option) “we don’t do that here” so we ordered 2 6oz options after we had a few sips he came to take our order, we ordered the “focaccia” he said “is that all your ordering” like if that was it WASN’T ok HA. We said no that we’d share that appetizer. Again he seemed annoyed that we didn’t EACH order something. Brought the focaccia, gave us a 10min window and came to grab the menus. We told him we were ordering more. Again seemed annoyed. I ordered the a pizza which I’ll say was amazing, once we received an hour later, my husband got a side of risotto (cold) to which the server said it was ready sooner but assumed we wanted it with the meal and a chicken sausage pork Gorgonzola with polenta base. I wasn’t a fan of any of his as the risotto to me was very el dente (not cooked imo) and the polenta has was gooey (imo). The bar tender seemed very busy and put to the test by the server who also indicated he made the food, then later said he told me it was his gramma authentic recipes! I felt most comfortable requesting drinks (water was empty, and by that I just requested ONE refill for both of us) and an espresso which she nailed! She also did our bill up and did a great job showing us what was being charged to our bill, even after telling the server the risotto was cold and including it into our bill with no discount. For what we got $150 later the experience of giving “no soup for you” vibes. Stay away if you like to feel welcome (while we were there people were declined whilst empty chairs stayed empty)

We happened to stay upstairs from the restaurant. From outside it doesnt look like much but once inside…you feel right at home in an italian family. Waitress was very friendly and fast serving. Everything is made fresh from the bread buns to the dessert. The food was amazing! I had salmon, with grilled veggies which needs to be ordered aside. And the mille feuille dessert was, a-ma-zing! I would make a detour to go back.

I called to make a reservation, however I have my number as private. The employee who answered was extremely rude about it and told me to call back from a non-private number.

Edit: the staff continue to be rude. The setting on my phone for my number to appear as private was set years ago. I don’t remember how to change it, I don’t think I should have to change it to try to make a reservation. Especially when I offered to give my phone number during the same phone call. Avoid this restaurant unless you want to be treated with disrespect before you can even walk through the door.

De Lelia was a delightful and well located find in Edmunston for dinner on the road. The varied menu of Italian foods and beverages offered something for everyone’s taste and appetite and portion sizes were on point. The well appointed dining room was quite busy with other diners enjoying their meals accompanied by Italian lemonades, Aperol Spritz, wines and beautiful desserts.
Highly recommended you try this little gem if Edmunston is an overnight stop on your next journey.

Edmundston is known as the gateway city and what a great place to stop overnight on your travels. Nice place and perfect for a little downtime break! Our accommodation was clean and comfortable. Right next door was Da Lelia an excellent Italian restaurant that offers up a variety of authentic homemade entrees (my tortellini made fresh) with superb fresh bread and desserts! Service with an italian smile (Daniella) and our bill surprised me inexpensive for the quality of food served. We will be back to stay overnight again

This hidden gem has only about ten tables and a truly authentic atmosphere. Arriving from out of province there was a bit of a language barrier so I mistakenly ordered the risotto on top of my regular meal. Turned out it was no mistake at all. It was one of the best dishes I have ever tasted. Every dish we ate we knew was farm fresh with homemade pasta. Ordered a coffee at the end of the night and it was served with fresh ground beans. Wish I could find something like this close to home.

Nice little restaurant for an affordable Italian meal. Clean facilities, nice atmosphere and a terrace for those who like to eat outside. For the price, the food is very good. Restaurant had just opened a week or two prior our visit so the service was not amazing but staff were nice and working hard to do their best… which is normal and should get better with time.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at Da Lelia was so upsetting that I feel compelled to warn others.
What truly pushed this from a disappointing meal to an unacceptable experience was how he reacted when I tried to quietly breastfeed my baby at our table. I was discreet and respectful, but he made a point to shame me publicly, giving disapproving looks, hovering near the table, and eventually making a comment that made me feel deeply uncomfortable and humiliated.
It’s incredibly unfortunate because the food itself was decent, and I would’ve loved to support a local restaurant. But no meal is worth being treated like a problem just for feeding your child.
