Very nice people. I learned that the business has been there 45 years. That says volumes to me. Now as for the food, the price was less than expected. If it were me, I would upgrade the cheese and charge a little more…. At the very least, cook a little longer on higher heat and dust the pie with Romano cheese. The taste is average but it wouldn’t take much to improve. They were generous with the cheese and in all fairness could raise there price 30% without negative impact. I give a solid 4 stars.

My family and I just had dinner here for the first time, and it was fantastic! We shared a meat lovers pizza, and it was perfect. From the deliciously sweet red sauce for the pizza to the fluffy crust with the perfect crunch to it, it was so good! The old, rustic feel when you walk in kind of makes you feel like you’ve walked into. Cheers, and then all of the employees act like family and many of them have been for many years. Years. This place is still owned by the same family who opened it 42 years ago. I can’t wait to go back on our next trip here!

Pizza was awful. Undercooked, Mushrooms from a can, and sauce that was super Soupy. No flavor either. Cheese did have a little bite which is a saving grace. It’s just not very good. I’m originally from Chicago so I know good pizza. If you just need a quick bite, it may suffice, other than that you may want to look elsewhere or go into Brownsville even.

If you feel like having a pizza this is a nice place to enjoy a crispy pizza. My kids enjoyed the pizza. It’s nice and comfy. This place offers alcoholic drinks and sports to watch while enjoying your pizza. I enjoyed some of the decorations they have displayed inside. You are welcome to enjoy your pizza outside too the music from the restaurants on the bay hit the spot. Wonderful music in the evening. We highly recommend D’ Pizza Joint and their “D’ Pizza Joint Special” pizza. It is one of the best pizzas we have ever ate….really! Great sauce, fresh ingredients and lots of ooey gooey cheesey goodness! The atmosphere is very relaxed, nothing fancy, sports on the tv, and great food. If you prefer to eat outside, there is a covered outdoor dining area. We hope that when you go, that you have Mike serve you. Mike grew up on South Padre Island, and left us feeling like we had made a new friend.

Well…the reviews were right…
I arrived and was greeted by a warm and sparkly host..eager to please our pizza cravings…
.i didn’t make it difficult..i ordered the house specialty pizza…and 12 minutes later…a beautiful large pizza covered in cheese and familiar Italian toppings was at arms length…
That was where the rave ended.
Toppings were good but not spectacular…the crust was anything but a good pizza crust (not even a solid cook through or buttery bottom….just bland plain dough)
Marinara sauce is signature in Italian dishes…including pizza …and the wife noticed right away…they either forgot to put any…or that’s the way they roll with the pizza…
Either way…we ate 2 slices each..and the rest our pet pooches enjoyed to the last bite.
Will i come back…i should probably just trusted Google reviews ..

Pizza was amazing! We didn’t have to ask for extra cheese because it’s was already cheesy good! Our server was attentive & wonderful, not only with us, but with every customer. Definitely recommend!

This place was a pleasant surprise! We each got a medium pizza except one and we had to get to go boxes! Even my teenage son! The crust was crispy and delish! The sauce was perfect and not too much that it drowned out the taste of the toppings. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was like a mom and pop shop which my husband and I absolutely love!!
