My father was born in West, and I pretty much grew up there. The Czech American Restaurant in West, and their food reminds me of my grandmothers cooking. Their food brings back a lot of childhood memories.

Try the sausage, sauerkraut, with potatoes and cabbage rolls. You’ll not be disappointed.

More to come.

Oh my gosh. Got the combo with Sausage link cabbage roll sauerkraut and the Czech fries. There is nothing bad as it was all awesome. Good food serviced with a smile. Great service and love the people. Remember being her many years ago and had the best chocolate meringue pie…..it was still warm as that fresh. Didn’t get it this time but got the Chocolate Lava explosion…would have a pic of that but got it To go and made it to the car and dig in. Deserts are the bomb. Food service and dessert. Worth a trip from the Dallas metro if want an outing. Enjoy O promise you won’t be disappointed!! Bought some sauerkraut to go as well .

Stopped in for lunch on the way to Oklahoma to see our son at college. First time here. We will for sure be back. Food was amazing. Had meat pies for app. So yummy. Husband had sausage and kraut, I had open faced roast beef with mashed potatoes and fried okra. Sooooo good. Took apple cobbler and peach cobbler to go for a snack on the road. As we were walking out they had a pi going out. The meringue on the pie holy cow. I’ve never seen such height. Trust me go eat there

A nice small town cafe. Get your Czech food here. Enjoy party of the heritage of Texas. The building is quite old, lots of locals, good food. Get off the highway and enjoy a sit- down meal.

Picha’s Czech-American Restaurant is a breath of fresh air! Much different from your typical restaurants you’ll find around. This All-American town has a rich history and has deep roots, it shows especially at Picha’s. Three generation of this family-owned restaurant shows a lot of love. Heather is an amazing waitress and helped me out with the menu and the history of the establishment. The sausage, sauerkraut, and Czech fries were a great meal. The apple strudel, with the chocolate pie was a great pairing. How on earth do they get the stiff peaks that high is unbelievable! Pierogies were an interesting appetizer I had not expected, the dip that comes along with it was excellent. Great for sharing! I look forward to the day I go back to West!

From the moment you step into the Czech-American Restaurant, you immediately feel at home. There’s this blend of Czech and American diner vibe that radiates warmth and fun that’s perfect for a great meal or cheerful gathering, with the tables to accommodate any size party. Our waitress, Heather, is genuinely the personification of hospitality. Her warm demeanor and genuine recommendations made our meal an unforgettable experience. It’s not often that you come across someone so intent on ensuring that you truly enjoy your dining experience. Thank you, Heather, for being the highlight of our experience! We ordered the Combo Plate of Sausage and Kraut which was a flavorful journey to Czech traditions, with each bite better than the last, and the Cabbage Roll, which was tender and well-spiced but also combined with a large portion of Czech Fries which were cooked to perfection. We also ordered the Polka Fries which was the ultimate show-stealer. The innovative blend of Czech fries topped with corned beef, kraut, and a delightful dressing sauce was a symphony of flavors; every bite felt like a New Year’s Eve celebration in my mouth. Overall, Czech-American restaurant masterfully brought together the best of both the Czech and American worlds in a culinary delight. The combination of great food, outstanding service, and a cozy ambiance makes it a must-visit spot for food lovers but also if you are traveling through West, take the extra two minutes to drive downtown and eat here!

Our family met here for a get together. It’s a terrific spot with very good food. Food you can’t get anywhere else. I ate the sauerkraut. I don’t like sauerkraut, but this was so delicious to me. I had chicken and dumplings, that yes, were just like my grandmother made. The atmosphere can’t be beat. There’s a door to nowhere. There used to be stairs, but being an old building, they were no long safe or useful. There are fun signs everywhere. This is a family run restaurant that has been around for many, many years and I hope it’s still around for decades to come.

We really enjoyed the authenticity and flavors of this unique restaurant. My husband had the combo platter and I had chicken and dumplings. The server, Adylin, was wonderful and treated us like family. I highly recommend this restaurant. It is a hidden treasure!

While we haven’t tried the whole menu…yet, everything we’ve tried has been great food! Not pictured but recently tasted was the cabbage rolls and Reuben sandwich! Both were really good if you like that sort of thing. We’ve also eaten the Big Al’s burger, sausage, beef tips, open-faced roast sandwich…not to shabby at all. Our favorite here is the Bohemian! Simple… fresh hoagie perfectly toasted with combination of spicy mustard and their sweet acidic sauerkraut with melted pepper jack and sausage. Delightful!

Stopped in West, Texas for lunch, so glad we did. Cute place and delicious food! I’m guessing we just missed the lunch crowd after 2pm, so super chill atmosphere. I had the turkey sandwich with Czech fries and the hubby had fried pork chops! Yummmm
