If your up around Cross City,Fl you need to stop at the long standing Cypress Inn Restaurant, est. 1928. The outside doesn’t look like much but don’t let that deter you from going in. The staff are friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is welcoming. You can eat at the counter or in the dining area that reminds you of a hunting lodge. I went with their buffet they had 2 types of fried fish, chicken, vegetables, salad and dessert. The fish had a light coating and delicious. The green beans were seasoned with bacon, yum. The different salads, coleslaw, broccoli salad and crab salad were wonderful. Hubby went with the club sandwich and fries. They also have a seafood buffet and also Fire grilled steaks on Friday night. So stop in and enjoy a nice delicious meal at this wonderful unique place.

We stopped for lunch because I read a review that said “best fried chicken.” The restaurant was very busy but there were two empty tables. My friends ordered from the menu and I got the buffet. It was fantastic and amazingly quick! I would happily eat here daily if I lived in the area. Will definitely be a destination point when in that area!!

Gotta support these old timey mom and pop businesses, they are disappearing across the nation. Had the buffet on a Saturday afternoon. Food was good, service was good. Rustic atmosphere. Lots of deer mounts on the walls. Definitely worth a stop if your in the area.

The Cypress Inn in Cross City isn’t just a great diner — it’s hands down the best diner in Florida. From the moment you walk in, it feels like a place that’s been doing things right for a long time. The food is consistently excellent, with generous portions, fair prices, and that real home-cooked quality you just don’t find much anymore. Breakfast is outstanding, lunch never disappoints, and everything comes out hot, fresh, and exactly how you hoped it would be. The staff is friendly, efficient, and treats you like a regular even if it’s your first visit. There’s a genuine small-town charm here that makes the experience feel special, not forced. Whether you’re passing through or making a trip just to eat there, the Cypress Inn is worth it every single time.

Stopped in for breakfast. The sweet tea was good. The breakfast special of 2 eggs, hash browns and bacon with toast came out quick and cooked to perfection. Service was excellent. Giving a 4/5 star review due to the bathrooms not being ADA compliant.

Good place. When I want a buffet I go either here or the Taste of Dixie. The buffet selection isn’t that big here, but what they do have is good enough, but I always like everything they put out.

Small town whole in the wall This place is the classic dive, you know. Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives loved the decor awesome. My first time eating here it was good but not great .
Overall, give it a 6 on a scale of 1 to 10
We got pancakes, breakfast sandwiches , and biscuits gravy over medium eggs bacon .
However, this place is NO whole in the wall. Are you going ? Just how sure are you 50%, 75%, or ? Of going to heaven ✨️
The Bible says:
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after that the judgment. Hebrews 9: 27
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again cannot see the kingdom of God. John 3: 3
Behold I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door. I will come in to him, and will sup with him and he with me. REVELATION 3:20
The word “sup” means relationship amazing. The God Heaven desires a relationship with YOU!!
That if thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9

We went last night for dinner ordered steak & shrimp with baked potatoe and coleslaw, kids chicken strips and fries and cheese sticks with 3 sweet teas. The tea was very good.
We were told they were out of marinara for the cheese sticks, out of baked potatoes (but then some were served to others) asked for oysters and told they didn’t have those, so asked for fried green tomatoes and told they didn’t have those either.
The steak was super salty and hard to eat but cooked properly as requested. The shrimp was super rubbery and hard to chew, the Tartar sauce was pure mayo. They brought extra coleslaw, I’m assuming to make up for the lack of second side with the dinner but the slaw tasted off.
When they brought the 2 meals they forgot the sticks and it took another 5 minutes to get them and the bun was covered with fresh grease which implied they forgot and had to cook them to bring them out so we all just waited.
No one checked to see if things were ok or we needed anything. We drove almost 45 minutes because it used to be such a good place to eat and friendly; it’s not anymore. It’s sad, dark, unwelcoming and unstocked.
Food presentation is just throw it on the plate.
One person took our drink order and food order, another brought the food, then the first I had to get her attention to get a Togo box for the cheese sticks and we went to Dairy Queen down the road.
I personally do not recommend cypress inn anymore, it once was a wonderful place and now it’s just not.
