The food was bursting with flavor and the dishes were all homemade with love. My palate was definitely pleased and intrigued at the same time.
The service was top notch. Both the cashier and the cook staff were very attentive to my questions about the ingredients I needed to stay away from and they were very meticulous about ensuring that my order fit my dietary restrictions. (I am vegan, gluten free for food allergies).
The location is not what I expected (inside a small supermarket) but I am a sucker for an adventure in a hole-in-the-wall eatery. I don’t need fine dining, just fine service and that is what I received, so that checked all the boxes for me.
I found someone’s posted photos online of an old menu that helped me see some posted allergens. I didn’t not see one in the cafe, just a sign. I think more details on allergens can be found online on Yelp or Google reviews (or just ask..they are friendly).
So, if you’re planning to do some grocery shopping at Gandhi Bazar, you can enjoy some chat while you shop!
Last month, for our son’s Raas Garba Sangeet Sandhya, we decided to cater from Curry in Hurry, an Indian vegetarian restaurant in Austin, and what a fabulous decision that turned out to be! Owned by Binta Patel, Curry in Hurry not only promises quality food but delivers an exceptional service that caters perfectly to specific culinary needs.
From the very beginning, Binta was a pleasure to work with. She listened patiently to our desire to recreate a Gujarati street food ambiance for our event, which was primarily attended by guests who cherish Gujarati cuisine. The professionalism and attentiveness of Binta, her husband Nirav and entire Curry in Hurry team were evident throughout our interaction.
Food & Presentation:
The menu was a hit! Here’s what stood out:
– Soups: Sweet Corn and the Hot and Sour Soups were yummy.
– Live Counters: The Pani Puri and Papdi Chaat counters were not just interactive but also served mouthwatering snacks that were true to the taste of Gujarat.
– Dinner Delights: The Pav Bhaji was notably delicious with perfectly square, crispy pavs, alongside sumptuous Dabeli, and Chole served with triangle Paratha.
– Desserts: The traditional favorites, Jalebi and Gulab Jamun, were prepared to perfection, ending our meal on a delightfully sweet note.
Post the performances, the availability of Khichu, authentic Gujarati Chai, and South Indian snacks really showcased their flexibility and commitment to providing a comprehensive culinary experience.
Special Dietary Accommodations:
A notable mention is how well they catered to our Jain community members, adapting the menu to exclude potatoes, onions, and garlic without compromising on taste.
Conclusion:
All in all, Curry in Hurry went above and beyond to ensure our event was a success. The food was not only delicious and true to its roots but was also presented in an appealing manner that enhanced our experience. We are regular customers at their restaurant location and this catering experience has only deepened our appreciation of their dedication to quality and service. I highly recommend Binta Patel’s Curry in Hurry for any event catering or even a simple meal out. They truly embody the flavors of India!
For a very less price they give very good meals . Chat items are very good .
So if you plan for a grocery shopping at Gandhi Bazar , you can have your chat and shop too
They serve thali in afternoon and both chat& thali in evening. They are freshly prepared. Compared chat items in other stores, chat i. Chai and coffee are disappointment as its mentioned as filter coffee in menu but instant coffee was served so reduced a star. Evening are crowded and expect a wait time for orders.
If you looking only got chat items then its a recommended place. #HappyDining
While roti was good, shrikhand i found bit stale, potato sbzi was having too much sourness, frymes were not fried properly they were. Only best thing i like in thali was chaas, and samosa.
