Great food, great staff, place for the entire family to eat. Has Many varieties of sauce NC vinegar SC mustard, Midwest sauce… Just all around good place to stop. Grandchildren loved the Mac and cheese and ff.

Always fresh and hot food, the pulled brisket sandwich is a must try. Burnt ends and hush puppies make the trip worth it.
Employees are helpful and attentive even when they’re short handed.
The only problem we have when we’re in the area is deciding wether to eat there or Frog Island since they’re not far from each other… we always end up going to both since one of the family members doesn’t eat seafood, we won’t say who though.

I cannot rave enough about this barbecue gem! It’s the ONLY place I would willingly drive 1 hour and 20 minutes roundtrip to feast on some of the best barbecue I’ve ever tasted. The burnt ends are nothing short of spectacular! Always perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. But let’s not forget the pulled beef brisket! So tender and juicy, it practically melts in your mouth. Every time I visit, I leave satisfied and already planning my next trip. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. If you’re a barbecue lover, this is a must-visit spot. I’m always coming back for more!

You can’t go to OBX without stopping at Currituck BBQ Company. We use their location as a landmark to let us know how far we’ve gone, and how far we’ve yet to go. Then we go buy some BBQ. Everything is good. From the mac n cheese to the green beans. This is soul food at its best. They have pulled chicken and beef bbq. They have several sauces. Want some dessert? They have individual slices of cheesecake in the sliding door fridge. Or better yet, the sweet potato casserole is like a dessert, too. Don’t forget the sweet tea. Staff are professional and efficient. During the summer months, you can also eat outside in the outdoor pavilion.

I am not one to get excited about BBQ, we only stopped because my husband wanted good NC BBQ and it was right on our route home, but oh my goodness was it delicious! Best I’ve ever eaten (though to be fair; not a lot to compare to). But I can no longer say I don’t like BBQ, because this has made me realize BBQ can be delicious.

We got the burnt tips (AMAZING! So glad we read reviews first or I wouldn’t have gotten them and they were the best) and the brisket. We got the bun on the side and I’m glad we did because the bun actually ruined it for me, I took one bite and then just dumped the meat right back off and ate it by itself.

Hushpuppies and baked beans were good too!

I’ve been stopping by this BBQ place for a few years. At one time they rated number 2. Just under #1 High Cotton but real good. My son and I stopped in last Tuesday, Dec. 2nd. While waiting for my order I observed several unhappy customers with wrong orders. The staff was unprofessional and confused. My order of Two for Tuesday BBQ sandwiches took way too long and the pulled pork was not smoked in a smoker. There was more Cole slaw than necessary and very little meat on my sandwiches. The sauce and napkin station was chaos. The Larry’s Original sauce was nothing but ACV with some Texas Pete mixed in. There was no red pepper flakes, garlic powder, onion powder, salt or pepper. That’s not North East North Carolina Sauce or proper pulled smoked pork.
What the hell happened to this once great BBQ joint??
New owner? New manager and staff? Whatever the reason for the serious drop in quality, the place absolutely sucks now. Way to destroy a great location

I have been eating at this place for over 30 years. Tonight was the first time I had bad food from here. The BBQ pork sandwich was dry even with the Larry’s NC BBQ sauce I keep in the fridge didnt help. Ot had funny taste it as well. The bun had a stale taste to it as well as being dried out so much it was crunchy. The fries were cooked all the way through. Very disappointing. After all these years I doubt I will order food here ever again. It was that bad. Its a shame

Small little BBQ shop with a few booths. Service was friendly and food came out quick. This BBQ was off the hook! It was some of the best BBQ we’ve had in a while! Not fatty, not dry, well mixed, good flavor! Tasty sauces and side dishes.

Paid almost $60 for 3 trays worth of food. We live right up the street and food was cold/barely warm once my husband arrived home with it. Portions are small, got 6 pieces of chicken bites and 3 bites in for both portions – then done. Only ate here because of the reviews, but definitely won’t be eating and wasting money here again. Also, customer service wasn’t that great and the restaurant wasn’t recommended by my husband to be ate in.

Easily one of my favorite barbecue. I tried to stop there virtually anytime I am headed to or from the Outer Banks. Prices are reasonable and the quality of the food is excellent. Extra points for awesome hush puppies!
They have expanded over the years but still maintain a really cool vibe.

You can buy their barbecue by the pound and take it to the beach!

Highly recommend!
