Aloha Bento has been my go to spot for great sushi and even better sake. They are located next to the main Central Pacific Bank branch and Starbucks. The Hamachi Kama is probably one of my favorites along with the sake flights. The staff here is amazing and anyone looking for a great meal for lunch or Pau Hana should give them a try.

Located inside the Central Pacific Bank Plaza at the back corner where it says Aloha Beer (but it’s bento actually).

Quality sushi! It’s in a casual setting, but the quality and taste are not casual. There were many things I wanna try but finally decided on doing the chirashi bento.

Delicious and fatty fish! One thing you can tell if this place has good fish or not is by trying their red tuna. Quality places would give you a nice cut that’s bright red with subtle mild fish flavor. Budget places will give you tuna that has a lot of ligaments and almost no fish flavor. Their red tuna was good, along with the ika (squid), negitoro (minced tuna), some fatty white fish, hamachi, crab meat (with light mayo), salmon and shrimp (although I wish it was amaebi instead). Their rice was also yummy with good seasoning and al dente texture.

Prices were not cheap but not ridiculous. I paid $24 for my bento, wish there’s just a little more seafood. They have other options that are more affordable.

I went during week after 12:30pm and there was no line. I just walked up to the kiosk to browse what they had and placed my order. The card machine on the left of the screen also takes tap payment. There’s also plenty of indoor and nice outdoor seating.

Would definitely go back if I want some sushi for lunch!

Aloha Bento in Honolulu is an absolute gem for sushi lovers! Located at 220 S. King Street inside the Central Pacific Plaza’s Tidepools, this restaurant has quickly become my go-to spot for sashimi cravings. Open from Monday to Friday, 11 am to 7 pm, Aloha Bento offers an exceptional dining experience.

The 8-piece Omakase Bento is a highlight, featuring an incredible variety of fresh, high-quality fish. The unagi, scallop, and ahi stand out as favorites, but every piece is a delightful taste of the sea. The staff, including Cosmo and Tyler, are pleasant and incredibly helpful in navigating the menu. The restaurant’s atmosphere adds to the overall experience, making it a cozy yet sophisticated spot for a sushi outing.

What’s particularly striking is their commitment to quality. Every piece of nigiri I tried was fresh and delicious, showcasing their expertise in selecting and preparing sashimi-grade fish. The generous portions are a pleasant surprise, ensuring you leave satisfied and eager to return.

I’m excited to hear they will soon expand their menu to include new items like handrolls. This is a place I’ll be revisiting, and I highly recommend Aloha Bento to anyone looking for top-notch sushi in Honolulu. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, stop by and treat yourself to some of the best sushi the city offers!

As other reviewers noted, we walked a half mile from our cruise ship to get here only to find that, despite the google business profile stating it was open, it clearly was not. Someone really needs to pay attention to their Google hours if they want to stay in business. Don’t make the trip…you’ll never know if it’s open or not. Oh, and a phone call doesn’t help because the vm states that “this mailbox has not been set up”. Im sure they just want to cater to the afternoon business crowds..

At first was mildly disappointed the bento options weren’t available in the evening, but selected the house roll and small sashimi and omg…the quality was amazing.

I’ve paid many times more and gotten so much less; the team was friendly and helpful. Food came quickly, and the quality was absolutely amazing. Some of the best sushi I’ve ever had including in Japan.

Stop in – far and away the best value and quality sushi on Oahu!

Absolutely incredible! This is going to be my go-to spot for my sashimi cravings. The fish is very high quality, the staff is pleasant, and the atmosphere was great. Cosmo prepared the most beautiful and delicious nigiri, and Tyler was very helpful with the menu. We decided on the 8 Piece Omakase Bento. Everything was incredible and if I had to choose.. the unagi, scallop, and ahi were my favorite I’ve tried so far. I will be back to try the salmon skin handrolls next! Mahalo Aloha Bento. So excited you’re here to create a great new lunch experience!
Enter Central Pacific on King Street, they are just left of Starbucks where Aloha Beer Co was.

So fresh and delicious!! The carpaccio with truffle ponzu was excellent! Spicy ahi roll was Ono! And the nigiri bento was beautiful to look at and delectable to eat. Just got back from Japan and this is two thumbs up…more if I had more thumbs.

Tried to go here today (Monday) just after noon but they had had a closed sign up. There was a guy at the counter working though which was confusing, so we asked to be sure and he was surprisingly rude and standoffish. We asked if they were open the rest of the week and he said they were “closed for an event” tomorrow too despite having clearly stated open hours on both Mondays and Tuesdays…this needs to be reflected in the hours on google maps or announced clearly somehow.

This place gets a fair amount of hype online and should expect some visitors beyond just the lunch crowd for workers in the area. We were in the area and excited to try the lunch sushi here, but were really put off by this vibe. I think it’s totally okay to just be open when you feel like it, as long as that policy is stated online rather than setting the expectation of regular hours and then randomly being closed so frequently. I see a lot of other reviews mentioning the same thing now so it’s not a one-off. And it wasn’t some kind of emergency or anomaly — it seems to be their regular way of operating.

If you’re visiting Honolulu and not a local, I’d recommend skipping this unless you’re able to call ahead and get a solid confirmation of when they’ll actually be open. If you go to the trouble of making a special trip and dealing with downtown parking just to have lunch here you’re likely to be disappointed.

The Sushi is sooo good, but not expensive, cannot believe it!!!!

The fish are really good!! Imported from Japan and some countries!(good one)
Also the rice is imported from Japan, which name is NOMA rice! Kyoto premium rice.
Even though I’m Japanese, I cannot get the rice in Japan.

If you are interested in, just try it!

I had 3 temaki rolls today that were excellent. Hamachi, spicy ahi, & chiso plum. Melt in your mouth fish , sticky rice , good service for online. I would usually only recommend if you’re downtown, but these guy are worth a detour!
