In 1949, Curly and Velma McGuire opened a small Irish roadside restaurant, with only 12 stools. Curly’s, The Bar at Evergreen Resort, named for our founder, features a relaxed, come as you are, tavern atmosphere. This fun, laid-back gathering spot will appeal to casual travelers of all ages, and locals alike, while tapping into the popularity of the Michigan craft brewery vibe. Cute little bar is a part of the Evergreen Resort. We enjoyed a couples of top shelf long Island ice teas with some complimentary popcorn and Sara made the drinks perfectly. Nice place to stop in after a round of golf.

We stayed at the resort for the weekend. For the convenience we walked over for dinner. They were not even busy and the service was so slow. Our server was so unprofessional, our order was wrong, she never came back to refill our drinks or check to see how our food was until we were almost done. However, with that being said the food was good. We decided to give them another try and went back the next evening, maybe it was just a bad night.

Let me start by saying food was good My in-laws came to visit and are staying at the resort. We came to meet them for dinner here tonight. The server was so rude! My mother in-law saw her roll her eyes when we asked for two highchairs. She never stated her name and she never told us the wait would be over an hour. I am a server/bartender so I get it! Short handed an training new employees. Our server needs to find another line of work! When the food wait got to be about an hour she proceeded to hide in the back. My father in-law had to go find her to ask how much longer. We saw you in the back FYI doing nothing. My kids haven’t seen their grandparents in over 5 months so I am so sorry my children were such a inconveniences to your night! I have been in this industry for over 15 years and you should be ashamed how you delivered customer service! The wait was never the problem it was your rude attitude.

When we got there for lunch around 1:30 in the afternoon on a Saturday there was nobody there. By the time we left two other couples of 2 had shown up. It was quiet, the waitress was nice and helpful when it came to selecting something off the menu. The prices were inexpensive, especially for how fantastic the food was. They had a great selection to choose from. It may have only been our first time eating there, but we will definitely be coming back!
