Reviews
I ordered online and arrived by the arrival time. I was told the order was not made yet. They informed me there are no bananas for the banna split. But they did offer to make it without the banna. I appreciated the effort and agreed, but that was just to save time. In my opinion, the price was high for a small portion. Also, It was very difficult and messy to transport home. Hard to believe they have no take out containers or I wasn’t offered any. Sadly, this experience cost me over 20 dollars and was not worth it
I agree with a few of these other reviews though… (1) The music can be deafeningly loud from outside the door, let alone inside. I don’t want to feel like I’m ag a concert screaming an order to a friend who’s standing right next to me. (2) The online menus are not accurate. For example, it advertises ice cream tacos and sandwiches as if you can customize them (all customizations are $.50 each). None of this is accurate. They are around $8.99 or $9.99 and you get what you get. Even if they only have pumpkin spice ice cream or cake batter ice cream as pre-made options and no normal flavors. They cannot be customized as it’s presented and they don’t fix the upcharges when you order online this way. They just put a hand written note in there that says “Whoops! These are not made to order. Sorry!” (3) Sometimes I get excellent service, though I’ve never seen the same face there twice. There was one girl, she was fantastic! Young, blonde, I didn’t catch her name. She went above and beyond to make sure I was happy and my dog was happy (yes, they have pup cups). Never saw her again though and it seems like the rest of the people I do see there hate their jobs or are just generally miserable people. Lastly, (4) I have a hard time getting around and before I got myself down there, one day I tried calling to see if they had something seasonal, and specific. No answer at noon, 130pm, 4pm and 645pm that day. Since then I have tried calling with similar luck. Otherwise the ice cream is awesome, though a bit pricey for the size/experience. It’s definitely worth stopping in considering the slim options in the area.
A couple things could be improved. Having a guest wifi and a bathroom would help people be able to sit down and use laptops and spend more time there. I’m very surprised they don’t already have wifi with the amount of seating they have.
Also, the coffee was ok. My partner who’s a coffee lover went and said it was not much better than Dunkins. She was hoping it would be better.
I personally like the breakfast sandwiches, they’re very high quality and reasonably priced.
However, the service could use some improvement. We placed an online order for two ice creams. When my boyfriend went to pick them up, he called to let me know that the sugar-free coffee flavor wasn’t available. No problem — we quickly decided on plain chocolate instead, which I heard him confirm with the staff member at the counter.
Unfortunately, he came home with mint chocolate chip. Mistakes happen, but when he pointed out the mix-up, the employee insisted that’s what he had asked for and began arguing with him. She also told him to “hurry up” while he was on the phone with me trying to choose a replacement flavor due to the inaccurate online menu. The interaction was uncomfortable enough that the customer behind him decided to leave.
I understand it’s a tough and fast-paced job, and mistakes happen — but arguing with customers and rushing them when the delay is caused by the store’s own system doesn’t leave a great impression.
Overall: I’d try this place again, but with some caution. I really do wish the best for this new business and hope the service experience improves with time.
Such a fun and welcoming spot in Berlin!
Cup and Cone is a bright, cheerful little gem with a great vibe and even better treats. The space is super clean, with fun decor, local artwork, and plenty of seating. Loved the teal chairs and cozy setup—it’s clear they’ve put thought into making it family-friendly and Instagram-worthy.
The selection of goodies is awesome. I picked up a pack of Muddy Boots Maple Candies, and they were delicious—rich, sweet, and clearly made with real maple. Love that they support local makers!
The staff was friendly and everything was well-organized. Perfect place to hang out, cool off, and enjoy some local flavor. Will definitely be back next time I’m in town!
