10/10 the food was so good I went back a second day and this time took my son. He also said it was sooooo good. We sat there and ate it while it was nice and hot. One of the customers let my son try one of the Tequenos and it was amzaing so we got an order of them as well. The staff is friendly, the location isn’t bad. But the food is the star. The meat you can tell is slow roasted and seasoned to perfection. I will definitely be back yet again.

Okay let’s just talk about the Tequenos!!! What was that!!! Warm, gooey, tasty and savory in the best possible way! Tequenos is a golden cheese stick wrapped in wheat dough. It’s crisp outside and soft/gooey on the inside. Comes with a garlic sauce which tasted DIVINE! The combo was so addictive and I regretted just ordering 1 plate – it was worth so so much more! I will be going back just for the Tequenos! Drool worthy!!

If you don’t eat gluten, you’ve GOT to order an arepa! The dough is light, fluffy and DELICIOUS, it’s rare that I get to enjoy something like this. The vegan arepa pictured in my review was absolutely amazing, fried plantains, avocado and black beans. My 16 year old daughter has never had Venezuelan cuisine before and she can’t wait to come back – she said arepas are her new favorite food!

Was so excited to have tajada for the first time in months and i loved it! Came with delicious garlic sauce that I used on my sandwich instead. Service was good, only ever saw one lady, she was taking orders, cooking and cleaning by herself but that may have been because it was mid-afternoon. They were out of some items while we were there, but i would definitely go back.

I dropped in right after the great freezing snow of 2026. They just opened, a quiet Tuesday morning, no one else showed up until I was leaving which does give a lovely quiet vibe for those wanting to avoid eye contact. But I doubt this place is quiet most of the time, what a treat! There’s fun international menus on the screens above the cooling surfaces in the kitchen. It’s open and supports transparent food culture. The chef owner was super friendly and made sure I scanned the Yelp code I had with the Elite Squad getting me a free meal. Ordered a shrimp cumaco, passion fruit, and empanada. So good! Took a second for the entree to appear but totally worth it, I’m glad these fast casual spots are not that fast to make some culinary work obvious.
It’s a beautiful place too that’s easy to relax in and enjoy the moment. The passion fruit drink was everything I hoped for, one of my all time favorites. Smooth tangy fruity bite and friendly yellow high fives my taste buds!
The empanada was basic, chicken very touch and needing flavors. Can support the house made garlic sauce brought on the side, excellent stuff! Goes amazing with the shrimp cumaco, I had to pace myself and enjoy each bite.
Glad to easily add this to the Indianapolis area top rated restaurants!

The empanadas and the Arepa bowls were my favorites. The cumaco picadera/ partillada even though it says for 2 people it actually feeds 4. Very generous portions. Service was awesome. Restaurant was clean and very easy parking. So happy to great Latin food in Indi

Coming from Florida I’ve been missing eating Venezuelan food and Cumaco did not disappoint. The restaurant feels like they poured their heart and soul into making it feel like home and represent Venezuela. I ordered the arepa pabellon and the tequeños and it was so delicious and fresh. I will be bringing my mom here.

Wonderful Venezuelan spot. The food was so good, we ate here twice this weekend. My first visit I had the arepa bowl which was fantastic. Sunday I had the sancocho, a Venezuelan beef stew with lots of yummy veggies. It’s only available on Sundays, though. The wait staff was attentive and very friendly. This will be a go-to stop whenever I’m in the Indianapolis area.
