Jesse is the best he is a delight and has better food than anyplace on earth you have to make this one of your favorite places to go and when you do you will get hooked like a fish not just for the food but the homemade beers that they make and tv’s are everywhere you will have to try them all and great music and mention me and get some good laughs

I happen to be one of the biggest smoked everything lover, and I’m always looking for the best BBQ chicken, and have found only over the years a few places in LA that I like, then I heard about Cuckoos Nest and immediately tried it, picked up a bag full of chicken and fresh coleslaw and potato salad and their amazing cobbler too! It is really amazing, smoked and so flavorful! The baked beans w pulled pork are also incredible! And we get to meet more friends in our community every time we go!! Thanks Jesse and crew!

So, first time in LA and I’m on my own. I find a great place to go hiking in the canyons and when I’m done I happened upon cuckoos nest barbecue. Jesse and his family are delightful and the food is some of the best barbecue I’ve ever had. I come from Virginia which is well known for this stuff so that is saying some thing. Perfect! We tried the 14hr slow cooled Wagyu Beef Brisket and it was not only melt in your mouth tender but the spice rub on it was also perfect!! The BBQ chicken was equally amazing and the owners are very personable. We’ll be back! Note, that while they have tables and chairs in their driveway, the place isn’t really a restaurant so takeout is recommended.

Just absolutely incredible barbecue. We randomly found this place on google maps and I exchanged some emails with the pit master to figure out how ordering works (replied right away to everything) and today we went to pick up our food. I’m still in a food coma. We got a pound of lean brisket, a pound of fatty brisket, two racks of ribs, the loaded mashed potatoes and the coleslaw, and everything was incredible; but especially the brisket. I usually prefer the lean cuts of brisket because I don’t like the texture of the fatty bits, but whatever this pitmaster did, the fatty brisket was incredible and I couldn’t get enough. Definitely getting more brisket next time.
