Cucinella’s is a family and community oriented, brick oven style pizzeria. Our family began making pizza in Rochester, NY in 1932. Veltre Bakery was a neighborhood staple known for its hand crafted pizzas and baked goods. Today Cucinella’s continues that family tradition in Blue Ridge by using original recipes and techniques that have been perfected over decades. We believe you’ll taste the difference.

This place is amazing. I was in town for the weekend and automatically was pulled in by the aroma of the freshly baked pizza. I ordered the chicken bacon ranch and Magherita pizza along with both garlic and cinnamon knots. The pizza was fresh to ordered, and definitely worth the wait.

Pizzas and garlic knots are wonderful. Great tasting dough and pizza sauce. There were six of us including a 5 and 7 year old. The shop has a game corner (you take the games to your table) that kept us all busy while waiting for our pizzas. Awesome dining room experience. You can buy their pizza dough. I will be doing that for Christmas!

We had a rocky awards ceremony today and the way they put it together so we took our son out for a special reward. This was our first time and won’t be the last! Dreamy! Gluten free crust and vegan cheese. Best I ever had. I have eaten here many times now. Perfect for food allergies. My friends loved their more traditional pizzas too. Cannot wait to come back during our next stay at The Bear’s Creek Retreat.

We did a food tour with Blue Ridge Food Tours and Tammie the “tour guide” Mason was our guide for the occasion. This was our first place on the stop. Upon arrival Jared graced us with the history. We sat and we enjoyed the pepperoni pizza (pictured below) and the spinach and red onion pizza (forgot to take picture because we were so busy enjoying the food!) Both were great!!! The food was good and we would definitely return for a second visit. Kudos to Cucinellas for the good pizza!!

Got pizza to go from here when we visited last month and it was great. They even did a GREAT dairy free cheese pizza for us. Easily the best pizza in Blue Ridge.

The service was friendly and fast. It was great to dine on the balcony in the cool evening weather. Our pizza had good flavor except for the parts where the crust bottom was burnt (we threw away about 2 1/2 pieces due to the burnt bottom). I’m also not a fan of the thin crust that flops over when you pick it up to eat it.
