Cucina sa was established in downtown San Anselmo in 1998 as a casual, neighborhood Italian restaurant. We have since expanded with a full bar, additonal dining space, and outside dining. With a wood-fired pizza oven, Cucina makes delicious housemade pizzas and fresh pastas, such as gnocchi and ravioli. Stop by for a cocktail and appetizer, or stay for a full meal.

Had a good dining experience, host was friendly and helped us navigate the menu.
The Black Cod was excellent, the fish was flaky, firm, and full of flavor. The couscous and tomato sauce were good.
The Ravioli with corn (I forgot what the filling was) was also great. We loved our mains.
Wasn’t as big a fan of the Tuna Tartare. It had a lot going on. The Brussel sprouts were delicious.
The custard dessert was great, the tiramisu wasn’t nearly as good.

Beautiful establishment with friendly service and a nice beverage selection. However, their food left me desiring more—their peaches weren’t ripe enough and very hard, and their Greek salad seemed more like an arugula/ onion salad with small amounts of tomato and cheese.

Please take the chicken ravioli off the menu. It is the most unappealing taste and texture. Throughout the dining experience, our server did not come to our table once, except for the bill and dessert menu. The runners kept trying to take our plates away, and we weren’t finished with our salad or main course. My guest had a bite of food on her fork to eat with food on her plate, and he went to grab the plate. We had to ask the runner several times not to take our plates. Please train your staff to turn their forks over, communicating that they have finished. Again really disappointed for a first timer.

Excellent cocktails and appetizers. Pasta entrées very good, but overly salted for our taste. They sat us 20 minutes after our reservation, and then they put us at a shared table. It was fine, just not what we were wanting. Victor, our server, was great!! Definitely will go back though.

We left a beautiful velvet jacket at the bar on Halloween night and realized it later. I called immediately and left two messages — no one ever returned my calls.
When I went back the next afternoon, the hostess briefly looked and said it was “nowhere to be found.” The restaurant had closed less than an hour after we left — how could the jacket just disappear?
We even went back that evening and showed the manager a photo, but his response was the same as the hostess: indifferent and unhelpful.
If you dine here, don’t expect any help recovering lost items. Very disappointing, especially from a restaurant we used to frequent. Which we never will again. If I could give zero stars I would.

The cook made a special dish for a 2-year-old child who can’t eat tomato sauce well. The menu is Laviola, which is very soft with tomatoes and cream. My child really enjoyed Laviola (unfortunately, I couldn’t take a picture of the food). I was satisfied with both service and taste.

Best Italian in San Anselmo! I ordered an Aperol Spritz (so Italian) and enjoyed the lively restaurant on a Friday nights I also ordered the Chicken Ravioli which was so good I didn’t get a picture till the plate was empty. The staff wS attentive and very courteous. Highly recommend.

I was with a group of 8 & service was excellent Most of the group loved their meals. I had petrale sole & felt it was significantly overly sauced. The tartuffo dessert was the best part of my meal and I did not offer to share.
