Cusina Biagio Review: Where Your Nonna Would Approve
Listen up, fellow adventurers! Sometimes the best finds aren’t in the fancy tourist traps, they’re tucked away in the heart of a real neighborhood. Cusina Biagio is that spot. It’s got that old-school Italian vibe—a little worn, a lot of charm—right in the middle of a working-class area. No pretension here, just killer food and good people.
For starters, I went with the grilled squid. Honestly, sometimes squid is rubbery, but this was spot on—perfectly tender and smoky. Then came the main event: a grilled salmon special with creamy mashed potatoes and crisp asparagus. The whole thing was seasoned perfectly and cooked flawlessly. Serious kudos to the chef; they absolutely nailed it.
The service? Fantastic. My water glass never dipped below half, and the waiter had that genuine, friendly energy that makes you feel like family.
Bottom line: If you’re looking for an authentic, no-fuss Italian joint that delivers big flavor and great value without emptying your wallet, put Cusina Biagio on your map. It’s a classic for a reason!

We decided to drive from Naperville to find Superosa Pizza,
after trying it at my sister’s for a football game. Hands down the best pizza, sauce, thin crust and fresh ingredients. When we arrived at the Superosa, it is part of the restaurant Cucina Biagio. The parking was easy they have a lot adjacent. We walked inside, nice decor, greeted by friendly staff and was seated immediately. The plan was to order pizza, and then we looked at the menu detailing delicious choices. As we viewed the menu we were brought, freshly baked bread accompanied by olive oil and parmesian for dipping. It was soft, warm and delicious. Lauren our waitress, was very polite and offered the specials, and was very enthusiastic about the foods quality. We ordered the Mussels with garlic and olive oil along with the Aracini. The Mussels were fresh, not frozen served with grilled bread. The Aracini were lightly breaded and fried, stuffed with sausage & peas, served with freshly made marinara. Lauren continued to check on us ensuring we were enjoying our food and providing refills for our drinks. The entrees come with soup or salad. We ordered the Lobster ravioli (So good) with vodka sauce; we are not fans of Vodka sauce. Lauren stated, it is a wonderful sauce and offered a sample. She was not wrong, the sauce was amazing. We also ordered the chicken parmesian, this came with penne pasta and fresh sauce. The chicken was breaded perfectly and so moist. I usually order this as a test for Italian restaurants and this by far is above the rest.
Because the pizza was what we came for we ordered a 14″ uncut half baked, cheese and sausage to take home, and a piece of Tiramisu. BTW as Lauren stated the Tiramisu was great. It was so fresh, and exquisitely balanced!
To the owner, thank you for providing fresh ingredients and the staff to care about the service they are providing. Lauren is a great asset and very passionate about your resturant. We will definitely be returning, happy to make the 1hr + drive. Our only suggestion would be to have more daily soup choices like pasta e fagioli.

We had a small family birthday party in late November 2025 (20 people). We had the smaller private party space by the bar. It was a little tight but we made it work and they put the buffet of food right outside which worked nice. The food was good (variety of pizzas, chicken vesuvio, pasta and salad), kids and adults were satisfied. The customer service is what topped it off. Any time any of needed anything the staff and owner/manger(?) , we very quickly on it. They checked on us and fairly quick with drinks.
Nice place for small party and neighborhood feel with beautiful decor and good food.

I held my daughter’s baby shower here and what a wonderful experience! it was a smooth process from reserving the room, selecting the menu and working with the friendly staff. The party room was the perfect size and the staff was accommodating with extra tables for desserts and gifts. The food was amazing and plentiful! Marco was very attentive and helped make my party a success. I had many guests say they would definitely come back for dinner. Plenty of parking was a plus, as well. I highly recommend!

The restaurant has a very fresh and delightful decor. From the lights to the table settings. The owner, Rose, is fun to chat with and catch up about neighborhoods in the Chicago area.

Although their food and service are amazing, I cannot help but wonder why the Harwood heights police department allows customers from this establishment to park all hours of the day on resident only parking of Octavia Ave leaving residents trying to scramble where to park. There’s a lot of parking on the side where Raising Canes and Portillo’s is. It seems that all the time the Harwood Heights Police Department allows customers of this establishment to just park all over on Octavia Ave on resident only parking while going ahead and quickly ticketing residents on street sweeping days. The same residents who pay taxes to pay their salaries. Makes no sense honestly. Seems very sketchy though.

It was our first time dining here. There was a limited New Year’s Eve menu. I found the food below average and overpriced. I had the Chicken Marsala and my husband had the linguini with shrimp. There was live entertainment which was nice, but every time someone opened the front door, I could feel a cold draft reach our booth which didn’t make the experience any better. Both entrees came with a bland salad and fresh bread. Our sever was very friendly, so that lightened the experience a bit. I honestly can say that I would never return here. There are so many other options with much better food in Chicago.

It was our first time having dinner there. The food was excellent and they didn’t skimp on the portions.

The atmosphere was great, it’s an older style Italian setting. Place was nearly full with a many groups celebrating events.

They had live music there for the first time with Diva Montell singing. She had the place rocking within an hour. Most of the crowd stayed well into the evening, enjoying the music.

Planning on going back the end of October when Diva will be there again. Her voice is incredible, come and find out.
