We are always looking for quality local food and this place does not disappoint. I had the ropa vieja w/rice and beans which was very very good and don’t forget that fresh garlic sauce. My wife had the Milanesa De Pollo which was a huge plate and is definitely shareable. She thought it lacked flavor however I had it on the reheat last night and it was great, chicken was seasoned well and there is a ton of gooey cheese which I happen to love….Will definitely return to try out other dishes.

The service in this restaurant is extremely poor. I stood in the restaurant for over 10 minutes without a simple acknowledgement. The staff looked at me numerous times, and as a white male I was ignored and given the side eye. The staff did immediately greet all those of Hispanic and Cuban descent. I finally left after waiting for 15 minutes and still no greeting or service. I highly don’t recommend this restaurant unless you’re of brown or Hispanic descent as they clearly prefer Hispanic customers over white.

I’ve been coming here for over 10 years, and it is hands down the best Cuban food in Central Florida. They even catered our wedding back in 2016. The owners are some of the friendliest, genuinely kind people you’ll ever meet. I rarely write reviews, but today’s experience absolutely deserves one.
I normally stick to the same two meals every visit, Ropa Vieja, and if they’re out, Pechuga a la Plancha. Today, they were out of my usual, and right before I ordered my backup dish, I noticed a special, Pollo Salteado. I asked the owner what it was, and as she described it in detail, it sounded right up my alley. I decided to be adventurous and thank God I did.
When the plate arrived, the aroma alone felt like divine energy. The bell peppers, onions, garlic, that beautiful classic orange sofrito color… I instantly knew I made the right choice.
Then I took the first bite.
I’m not exaggerating when I say I felt my soul leave my body and enter a place of angelic existence. I have never in my life eaten a chicken dish this perfectly prepared. Normally I drown my rice in black beans, but today I couldn’t bring myself to do it. I wanted nothing to interfere with the flavor of that Pollo Salteado.
Bite after bite, I was stunned. I kept telling myself to stop so I could save some for dinner, but my hands betrayed me scoop after scoop kept disappearing into my mouth. I’ve literally been thinking about this dish ever since, wondering when I can come back and have it again. I finally snapped a picture with only a few bite left just so I could admire it until we meet again.
They serve nothing but the best Cuban food period. If you haven’t experienced this place, I honestly feel sorry for you.

New ownership. Much more friendly and welcoming than the last owners. The new owners are glad to answer menu questions and welcome you in and offer salutations as you leave. They make customers feel appreciated. The food is delicious. We had the half chicken special today. Beautiful presentation, exceptional flavors. This place is busy and we can certainly see why. Lots of leftovers and we are happy about it!

I’m stuffed! Today I had a late lunch at Cuban Delight Café, located in the strip mall at 1039 Co Rd 540A, Lakeland. (It’s next to the Mobil station on the corner of 540A and Carter Road.) The special of the day was roasted pork with Mojo on top and included sides of rice, sweet plantains, and black beans. The portion was huge! The pork was very tender and very delicious! This is a small restaurant with a few tables. This is a friendly place with many of the customers speaking Spanish with each other and the staff. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. The service was quick, and I wish I had room for one of the guava filled pastries they had on display. I will definitely be back! If you are in the southern reaches of Lakeland, you owe it to yourself to check out this lovely little café!

Amazing food and even more amazing people. Came in for a Cuban sandwich but they were out (it was after lunch) ended up getting the pork plate with rice, plantains and black beans. It was so good! The staff was so friendly and kind, very welcoming. I will definitely be back.

My eyes teared up on the first bite. I have not been happier to pay for food at a restaurant. They have the business down to a science. The food is fantastic with excellent presentation and the service was amazingly fast. The price is perfect for what you get, I did not leave hungry. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. I would gladly drive a few hours to eat here again.
