First time eating here and let me tell you it by far exceeded my expectations. From the moment we stepped foot in the establishment we were welcomed and greeted by the manager. He recommended to try the cuban sandwich and the French toast which was one of their most popular items. It was a short wait time from ordering to having our food bought to us. The food was hot, fresh and savory. Absolutely delicious if you haven’t been here please do yourself a favor and give it a try. On top of the service the atmosphere unique, urban, artsy and hip.
It passed all metrics leaving me and my family wanting to come back.

6 out of 5 stars!!!

The food at Cuban Cafe in La Porte was genuinely impressive. The flavors were authentic and very comparable to the Cuban food I grew up eating in Miami. The seasoning, preparation, and overall execution were on point — easily the highlight of the visit.

Unfortunately, the service experience created unnecessary delays. The restaurant only had one physical menu available for customers, and the posted menu behind the counter was incomplete. As a result, ordering became inefficient. I waited a prolonged period because the customers ahead of me were trying to decipher the single menu, even though multiple cashiers were available and ready to take orders.

The bottleneck wasn’t staffing — it was the ordering system. Having multiple printed menus or a complete, clearly visible overhead menu would dramatically improve flow and reduce wait times.

There is real potential here because the food absolutely delivers. With a few operational adjustments to streamline ordering, this place could easily match the quality of its cuisine with an equally smooth customer experience.

I needed a cappuccino like yesterday! So while on my walk this morning, I decided to try the Cuban Cafe. I don’t think I have ever had a Cuban sandwich, or at least not recently. While the cappuccino was pretty darn good, the Cuban breakfast sandwich was pretty darn good. It was one of the most moist breakfast sandwiches I have ever had! As great as the coffee and the sandwich were, it was all topped off by the super great lady who was working the counter during my visit!

We decided to have breakfast and chose Cuban Cafe Laporte and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the atmosphere. Their Cuban sandwiches and French toast are simply delicious, and the coffee (especially the cortado) deserves special praise. The staff is friendly and attentive, which makes the visit even more enjoyable. If you are looking for a place with authentic Cuban cuisine and a cozy atmosphere, this cafe is a great choice!

The guy running is super nice. We came here a year ago and hoped that they would succeed. The Cuban and Italian sandwiches are outstanding. The interior needs some work. Lots of their supplies everywhere and the seats aren’t comfortable. We took our sandwiches to go and ate at Sylvan Beach.

My family is obsessed with this place!! A true hidden gem in La Porte. The moment you walk in, it feels like home…..if home had great art, good vibes, and the BEST café con leche that NEVER misses. You’re welcomed like family every time, the food is delicious, and the service is full of heart. We recently relocated to Texas, and finding this spot felt like a little gift! Thank you for the warmth, the consistency, and for creating such a welcoming space to land!

Authentic Cuban coffee! So good and energizing. I got the Three egg breakfast with home cooked potatoes and onion with sausage and cuban toast perfect for dipping into my over medium cooked eggs; tasted like grandmas house! I then topped it off with a plantain and cream cheese empanada they are small but tasty flakey goodness:). Perfect with the Coffee. My daughter got the cuban breakfast sand-which which came with fried potatoes also she said it was most tasty the bread was perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. I took the breakfast burritos to go for my husband and son and they were huge!!!! Chunky goodness inside with scrambled eggs potatoes and cheese! Had ro take a bite although ai was full. So yummy!!!

The Building: The outside is nothing to rave about and I actually drove past it…on purpose; but turned around after seeing some of the reviews. They are expanding so cannot wait to try this little cafe again and see where they go in the future;)))

If you’re anywhere near the bay in La Porte, you owe it to yourself to stop by The Cuban Café this place is an absolute hidden gem! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm smiles, authentic aromas, and that easygoing coastal energy that makes you feel right at home.

The food is out of this world every plate is packed with flavor and made with care. The Cuban sandwiches are perfection: crisp bread, tender roasted pork, melty Swiss, and that tangy pickle-mustard combo that hits just right. The Ropa Vieja and Picadillo taste like they came straight from Havana, and the Café con Leche is smooth and bold the perfect finish to any meal.

Service here is top-notch friendly, fast, and genuinely proud of what they serve. You can tell they love what they do, and that passion comes through in every bite. Add the breezy bay atmosphere, and it’s the kind of place you’ll want to come back to again and again.

Whether you’re grabbing lunch, sitting outside for dinner, or just stopping by for a Cuban coffee and pastelito, The Cuban Café is easily one of La Porte’s best spots.
Authentic food, great people, and beautiful bay vibes 10/10

We tried the French toast bites, the mini Cuban sandwich, the Mocha dark and white coffees and thought it was all delicious. We realized that they didn’t serve us the potatoes that came with sandwich so when we asked about it they said they forgot to tell us. Instead of a refund or a replacement they gave us “what was left.” I’m sure the potatoes would’ve been good but we don’t accept leftovers.
