This visit was a surprise birthday trip! The gondola ride was great. My only negative is that the tickets cost $78 for us Seniors and closer to $100 otherwise. That is pricey to us! The views on top were spectacular even with the wildfire smoke. We had lunch at the Summit Inn. Hubby had the smoked brisket sandwich. It was huge! I wanted the salmon sandwich but they were out of salmon. This particular day was the last day of the season so the menu by 3:00 was running out. I had the Smokehouse Chopped Salad. It was deeeelicious!! Had to take half home. Staff was great, friendly and a little tired. The place was packed with a 90 minute wait!! I will go back in a heartbeat! I just recommend that you come early, enjoy the view,take a hike and finish with a great meal!!

We went up there for the views of Mt Rainier, without any expectations about where to get lunch. This restaurant was a nice surprise. We all got the burger with waffle fries. Everything was cooked perfectly, and obviously prepared fresh. The waitress was very polite, without being intrusive. Although the place had a waiting line, but we were never pressed to leave, so we took our time to enjoy our meal with the awesome view.

What more experience one would want more than sitting inside a restaurant viewing snow covered mountains all around, sipping beer and cherishing hot food! It was perfect ambience, though it was around 3pm on a holiday. Good food, but it was pricy and it’s understandable the cost maintaining restaurant at such a top altitude. Recommended for sure!

Wonderful experience with a million-dollar view in front of you. The food is good and prices are reasonable considering the surroundings. Our wait staff was friendly and did not rush us. There was a wait to get a table near the window with a splendid view. We waited for about 20 minutes or so. That wasn’t too bad. I highly recommend this restaurant to get a once in a lifetime experience of dining among the clouds.
