This is still my favorite buffet in all of Chicago! We tried it in 2024 and always go back. The food was super fresh this weekend. I used to come on Tuesdays and it was still good. The hibachi is so good I love the double sauces from here. The cooks do an amazing job every-time with hibachi. The orange chicken, string green beans, sugary biscuit’s, and crab rangoon are my favorites. They have great dessert options as well. I love the mini chocolate sandwhich ice cream to finish.

I’ve been coming here since they opened a few years ago. Here are some of my observations since.
Plus:
– It is affordable with all the selections you get. Refills on drinks, food, and hibachi.
– You can take your time eating here.
– They clean your table from dishes and trash frequently, so you’re not sitting in piles of your former plates.
– They are kind. Love the hibachi guy.
Improvements:
– The turnaround of food has gotten worse. This last time, most of the food I ate was cold. It doesn’t taste well when your fish or shrimp is as icy as outside. I watched the same pans of food be out there to over an hour. When something is supposed to be fried and is soggy, yuck.
– A few of the ice cream had expired.
– The shrimp was …creamy on the inside. When I bit into it, I immediately spat it out and looked it up on the internet. Spoiled shrimp.
-Ditto on my first point; the sushi wasn’t refreshed until a couple of hours later. So, by the time I was leaving, I saw some lady make more. Oh well. No sushi for me this time.
I wish more people knew about this gem of a place. I wonder if there were more people, the improvements would diminish and more fresh food would come out.

The staff was nice. The location is okay and there was plenty of seating. They had good crabmeat rangoons and hot and sour soup and okay pork egg rolls. Nearly every thing else was pretty bad. $20 bucks a person was really high for this quality of buffet. The one in the strip mall they tore down was better and less expensive. Soggy almond cookies? Is that a thing?

Great place! Food was fresh! Hibachi noodles also tasted great. The lady here is very sweet and kind, and gave my daughter a puppy balloon! I found out they do DJ and kareoke here on Friday and nights. Can’t wait to check that out also!

I LOVE their seafood boil. They have a great sushi selection. Hibachi, fresh food! It’s my go to for endless crawfish and mussels (just don’t get there late because I may have taken all of them 🙂

I will start with saying that this place has the feel of Chinese takeout as a buffet. Now after you read that, imagine the best takeout you usually get. It’s at a level where it’s so good you forget that the dishes are the same as you get with takeout.
There are a variety of dishes that you might not usually try, and now you can for just a few bites, and everything is very good. Dishes are made in smaller batches than I expected at a buffet, but because the batches are smaller, the dishes all tasted like they were just made for me.

This was our first time back since a new owner took over and have to say the buffet has definitely improved! There was a good variety but most importantly to me, items that were supposed to be hot were hot, and cold items, like fruit, were cold! In addition, the food was flavorful and a Hibachi is available for personalized dishes. I do wish they had changed the dining area to be brighter, but our booth was comfortable and overall a very pleasant lunch. Will definitely be back!

Just dined here today 1/8/26 and omg definitely one of the best Chinese buffets we’ve had. The sushi,hibachi, soups were all amazing and omg crab legs with a seafood boil that was an awesome bonus. You never see crab anymore on a buffet. Also the bathroom was spotless and clean. A lot of buffets their bathrooms are dirty and gross. We will definitely be back.

Wonderful chinese buffet! The old owners ran this place into the ground but the new owners have completely restored it! The food is hot and fresh, the staff is always walking around making sure everything is still fresh, it’s great to see. My favorite item was the spicy chicken and the salt and pepper shrimp! I am so happy there is a good chinese buffet back in crystal lake, the closing of king buffet really left a hole in our hearts but this place has filled it right back up!
