We stopped here on the way to Weird Al concert. This was a second option as our 1st was closed for the weekend due to 4th of July. The outside is a bit rundown but as foodies, we are here because of the good reviews. The inside was plain with some unusual paint scheme and we were the only customers but nonetheless, we sat down. Our waitress greeted us and was super friendly. She offered some of their most popular dish selections which was helpful. We started with chips and salsa and guac. The salsa was very good. A bit spicy but well seasoned. The guac was very tasty and the more you ate, the better it seemed to taste!
I ordered the 3 taco birria with a side of rice. The meat was seasoned so well! And dipping them into the birria was just perfection! The rice was so fluffy and tasty!
My son ordered the quesebirria which to us looked like my tacos with just a larger taco shell. He said it was very good as well as his rice.
My other son ordered the enchiladas. None of us have seen enchilada sauce so dark and when we tasted the sauce, we were all taken aback by how sweet it tasted. I was a bit offended and was worried he wouldn’t eat it but once he ate it all together with the enchilada, the flavors mellowed and really complimented each other. He ended up eating all 4 of the enchiladas and said he would order it again.
My husband ordered the steak, chicken, and shrimp burrito. He said it was super delish and big.
Overall a very good experience. I’d definitely come back for the food. I think some minor changes to the interior and exterior would make the place more welcoming but sometimes places like this make the best food! And they certainly did!!

This place is adorable. I ate lunch here and it was delicious. They just opened, so I am happy to let you know how it is.

Had the pastor and asada handmade tacos (worth the little extra to have the fresh tortilla shells by the way). These are in the style of street tacos, served with onions and cilantro. Came out quickly, and Hot.

I also ordered guacamole and it’s probably the best I’ve had in a minute.

Also, the sauces are legit. They are hot, and have excellent flavor. The green one is a tasty smoky habanero based sauce, and the red is a more traditional tomato based one.

So far went 1 time. Ordered the Birria taco plate w rice,3 pastor tacos, 2 chicken tamales with green and steak burrito. I wanted to 1 of every meat. I was disappointed in the pastor. I’ll definitely be back and try the pastor again. Yum/ the register girl definitely is a sweetheart.
I’m going back this evening to get a bite. I certainly hope you enjoy it as I have…I will update.

So, I tried a new spot in BG — @cruz_mexican_express_bg Cruz Mexican Express—and let me tell you, they did not disappoint! the tacos were on point, packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. but the real surprise? the Gringa—something i had never tried before, and now i’m wondering where it’s been all my life. think melty cheese, juicy meat, and a crispy tortilla all coming together in one glorious bite. topped it all off with an ice-cold Jarritos (because that’s just how it’s done), and it was a meal to remember. if you haven’t checked this place out yet, do yourself a favor and go!

I came in because my usual place was closed today. I ordered sopes and a pineapple water. Drink was very good. Disappointed the sopes were not fried. They were big, but soft and floppy. The carnitas was very bland. The al pastor was decent. Food needed more salt and flavor. Never heard of sopes being soft like a tamale. Service was excellent!

UPDATE: I went back and dined in. The street tacos were amazing and the pupusaa were freshly made and delicious.

I decided to try to place because it was close where I was at and it had good Google reviews. The place seems like they have good food but the execution was off for my order. The tacos are reasonable priced. I got a chicken street taco which was well seasoned along with a steak street taco which was good. The problem was they forgot to put the onions and cilantro on the tacos. I ordered a chorizo gorditas was alright but I didn’t really care for the chorizo as it was mild in flavor to me. The pupusa was alright but it was difficult to eat the cabbage and salsa in the car because they were in plastic bags with some of the cabbage juice seeming to leak. With all that being said, I would come here ago if I am leaving the college and want some quick but tasty Mexican food.

This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Bowling Green. I know it sounds rediculous with us having accredited establishments such as Hickory and Oak, but the food, the people, the prices, Cruz’s just has it all. The Caritas are always amazing, the Birria is to die for and the staff is just fantastic.

2.00 street tacos are my spirit animal.

Online price difference is insane. $4 for a street taco online where it is $2 in the restaurant. $7 tres leches cake when in store it is $5.

This miniature cup of guacamole, not even made fresh to order, was $6.50, and doesn’t even come with chips. This pricing is outlandish.

I can’t wrap my head around how delicious the Pupusa is! Blew us away. Felt like we were back in Cali while eating our tacos. Which we compare all our tacos adventures to.
Thank yous.
