Expand Your Horizons Once upon a nautical time a good time ago, the only radar to outfit a sea-faring vessel was a human lookout, in a tiny basket, often seen clinging to the top of a tall mast. Or, in other words, a sailor in a crow’s nest. The vantage point of the crow’s nest was, of course, its advantage: giving anyone so stationed a stunning, spectacular view of the waters below and the horizon ahead. We had dinner timed perfectly with the sunset! I have been trying to get to this restaurant for 3 years and finally it all came together for a magical evening and dinner experience ♥️ The manager was fabulous assisting my husband who has issues with walking in getting us up the elevator. I requested a table by the window and it was the perfect view. Craig was our server and was impeccable in making sure we had everything we needed and accommodated my requests for dietary issues. We had the filet and it was cooked perfectly along with the other side dishes. We had the chocolate banana bread pudding dessert and it was delicious!! I highly recommend this restaurant and I can’t say enough about the quality of food, service, atmosphere and most of all the beautifully decorated inside and view of the sunset and ocean outside!

Leaving a bad review is not something I am accustomed to:
Below sub par food for a high price tag, and long wait times between courses. Beautiful view of the sunset and diligent busboys are the only reason for more than 1 star. The first warning sign should have been 1/2 dozen raw oysters for $24 served with more than 1/4 cup each of horseradish AND cocktail sauce, AND a minimum 16 saltine crackers…it was a bad omen.
The beef tips and lobster risotto were comical for the price. No lobster to be had in the ultra dry risotto, and the beef tips would have been good…had they been served as a meal on an airplane. We cancelled our seared tuna entree as it was over 25 mins since our apps were cleared with no notice from our waiter when our food would be out.
It was funny for the first 20 minutes, laughing about how it might be the worst meal-per -dollar we’ve had… when our entree failed to arrive we decided to cut our losses and leave. Shout out to the manager for hearing our concerns and canceling our entree so quickly. I can only recommend this place for cocktails and sunset. I’m sorry if the kitchen isn’t receiving honest feedback, but the food for the price point should be, at minimum, decent.

The most beautiful view from our table at Crow’s Nest Steakhouse! What a perfect way to watch the sunset on Captiva. The restaurant is beautiful inside, very well done! The food was delicious, everyone loved their meal. From the cocktails that were made table side, salads, steaks and mac and cheese there was an option for everyone. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a nice dinner on the island!

My wife and I celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary at the Crow’s Nest! We had reserved a table to see the sunset! The food and service were exceptional. Steak and lobster was perfectly cooked and the night was exceptional. I’d fully recommend this gem on Captiva!

The atmosphere and service were superb with very polite servers in a modern and tailored restaurant. I especially liked the framed art and ambient lighting.
The drinks were good, the espresso martini was especially perfect.
The starter bread was free, however it was hard and not tasty.
If you don’t like escargot, the untraditionally prepared snails will appeal to you. The crab cakes were delicious with big chunks of crab.
The caprese salad was served with frozen tomatoes and store-bought cheese, both of which were mushy, grainy and bland. Also please see image of giant tomato. However, the dressing was delicious.
The mac and cheese tasted like nothing, just boiled pasta.
It was disappointing that the steakhouse didn’t prepare my porterhouse correctly. It tasted alright, but was overcooked. Some of our steak orders came out correctly and delicious, and the vegetable sides were perfectly cooked.
The proportions for everything were proper and satisfactory.
There’s potential for the prices to match the quality of food.

PHENOMENAL service and experience!
It’s EXTREMELY hard to eat out due to various allergies that my husband and I have to shellfish and pork.
He and I hardly ever get to go out to eat due to cross-contamination.
Our waitress and the cook were very accommodating, and we were thrilled to hear that the filet minion was pan seared. They even offered to fully clean the grill for us.
Captiva Island will be one of our new vacation destinations, and one of the main reasons is because we feel safe eating at the Crows Nest! Thank you!

We are staying at Tween Waters and were very excited to try the Crows Nest Steakhouse made reservations two days prior to going. We arrived and were seated right away, we were very impressed with the view and the decor, sadly the service, price and quality of the food were not worth it.
There was one waitress for about 12 tables she had no help just a nice young man refilling waters for her. We were undecided about what to get for our meals so we wanted to order more drinks. The waitress brought the drink menu back to us then never came back to see what we wanted, I actually had to go up to the bar and order the drinks. This was not what we expected for what the place was explained as. You could clearly see the waitress was needing help and was struggling to serve all the people at the tables.
We have zero desire to go back and do not think it is worth the time or money for the quality of food you get. You are definitely paying for the nice view and that is about it.

We were EXTREMELY disappointed and will never return. The next day I spoke to a member of management at the Crows Nest and was promised a follow up phone call from the Food and Beverage manager – that NEVER happened. That speaks volumes about how much they care. I now am compelled to discourage others from wasting a great deal of money for less than average dry and over cooked steaks, unripe tomatoes in the caprese salad, incorrect and incomplete orders and a lack of integrity in the management. Mother Nature did provide a fabulous sunset for my husbands birthday but the evening was ruined by all of the above and it was an embarrassment. We should have simply done a picnic on the beach for sure instead. In the words of Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, “ Big Mistake, Huge!”

We really enjoyed dinner here. I had the pork chop and hubby had the vegan dish which he said was very good! This is very high end restaurant and you are expected to dress accordingly. Didn’t appreciate seeing patrons with hats on while dining. That’s just a pet peeve I have. In NJ they ask you to remove you hat upon arrival
