Staff was friendly and helpful! We had catfish (good), coleslaw (yum!), grits (yum!), chopped pork bque (good), Brunswick stew (yum), French fries, apple fried pie (yum) sweet tea and Sprite. Enjoyed talking to the staff, down home older “hole in the wall” feel which we love! Total of 2 dinners was $35 Would eat here again if we were ever in the area! Camping nearby at Hamburg State Park!

Got there at 11:40 and order a burger & fries. My husband ordered ordered the BBQ chicken. Sat down and the lady brought our drinks to the table and said the chicken would be about 15 minutes. No problem.. We continued to wait for our order until 12:20. My husband went to the counter to ask about our order and was told the chicken was still not ready. Couldn’t tell us how much longer it would be. All they said was sorry. My husband said we aren’t waiting any longer and asked how much for the drinks and we were told $4. What would have been the correct thing to do, would have been when we order to tell us how long the wait would actually be. Not 40 minutes later and still not ready. Also, I guess they needed the $4 more than we did. After years in a customer service industry, I would have never made someone pay for 2 drink after waiting 40 minutes when we were told 15 minutes.

This is without a doubt one of my favorite BBQ places. I have never walked in without getting a warm greeting. They have chopped BBQ, chicken, ribs, fried catfish and chicken tenders. I like that they have potato salad as a side, and I love their stew! The desserts are homemade, including the banana pudding. It’s a bit out of the way, but it’s family friendly dining and good food. So I think, worth the drive.

After calling in an order for BBQ Ribs and side dishes, I arrived about 30 min later and retrieved my oder. When I got home and opened my dinner I discovered to my horror that they didn’t give me ribs they actually gave me pulled pork. when I called back to complaint they said it was ribs without the bones..I told the person on the phone that this wasn’t what I ordered , that pacifically ask for ribs and not pulled pork, she told me to ” next time be more specific ” WOW…. I told her there would never be a next time that I would never ever visit that establishment again.

The sign outfront states “best bbq this side of high heaven” well that’s not true. We stopelped on for lunch the other day and ordered a pulled pork sandwich plate. I opted for baked beans and stew for my sides, bc they refuse to even turn on a fryer to make any hot sides. My pork sandwich was 90 percent gristle and cartilage and 0% of seasoning, and it was completely cold. No telling what day it was actually cooked. The stew was terrible and bland. And the baked beans are put of the can. I know Bushes Baked Beans and that’s was most certainly bushes canned beans. Sadly the best thing in my meal was the canned beans. You can tell no one has ever told this business what they need to hear, not what they want to hear. The food is terrible!!! The staff is super sweet.

My wife and I were traveling on I-20 and took a chance on this place. It was well worth it! All the food was great, and their stew was top notch! We met the owner, Pops and he showed us around the small place – including his new kitchen. (by the way, they had a 100 on their current inspection report). This restaurant has been in business for 29 years.
It’s very easy to drive by this place if you’ve never tried it. It’s very small, and there’s no parking lot. Just park anywhere on the grass around the building. Nice friendly people inside, and quick service.
Next time we’re within 25 miles of Crossroad Barbecue, we’ll absolutely visit again. You won’t be disappointed.

BBQ was placed where side goes,beans was where BBQ should go , potato salad store bought small small portion of BBQ very disappointed . Beans were can beans , Cole slaw was dry,No refill on tea and was not busy at all a year ago it was good but has really gotten worse.
