Wandered into Cronin’s looking for a quick lunch and a pint and was welcomed by Steve, the bartender and seemingly only person on staff outside of the kitchen. Within a moments of taking my seat I was treated like a regular, something new to me given the general standoff-ish reputation from south shore bars (I’m not from here). I knew Cronin’s was reputable for their steak tips but I wanted something else and Steve said their Bar Pizza was pretty damn good. It for sure did not disappoint, crispy but not burnt, great sauce and cheese ratio – exactly what I wanted. The atmosphere here is akin to a big family living room where everyone is welcome and folks either have a nickname for you or are on a first name basis. I’m pleasantly surprised by how nice an establishment Cronin’s is, and while it may appear as a dive on the surface, it is absolutely a place where you feel like you’re home when you walk in. I will 100% be back very soon.

Really liked this place. I was getting a set of tires and had 90 minutes to kill. GPS said this place was just over a half mile away. It’s on a side street so a little hard to find but the bartender was very nice and the customers were super friendly. I didn’t eat but the food was typical bar food that everybody loves. 20 ounce Wormtow IPAs were just $6.50. Very good price. It didn’t look like there was a parking lot but there is street parking which was readily available since it’s on a side street. Not sure if I will go out of my way to go there again (I’m from Dorchester) but if I’m in the neighborhood and thirsty I will definitely stop in. They have keno and lots of TVs. There is also a whole section with tables to sit and eat your food. They also have a very cool clock that counts down the days, hours, minutes and seconds until St. Patrick’s Day.

I just walked in and sat down with my family in the dining room and we were left sitting there while the bartender spoke to the 3 people at the bar and watched TV. I guess you have to sit at the bar to get any service I have been in there a dozen times and I have only been happy with the service once..

Cool old fashion pup. Nostalgic atmosphere. Great service. The cook/ chef was very attentive and made sure we were satisfied with our meals. The steak chips were fabulous.

I was looking forward to going to this place. The steak tips looks great in the pictures online. Unfortunately they were terrible once I got here. They were charred yet undercooked. They also weren’t marinated at all. Steak tips are my favorite food, I get them everywhere I go. These just tasted like nothing. Also to top it off the mash potatoes weren’t home made. I’ve had instant potatoes better than the ones they served me. Service was great though, can’t complain about that.

Nice pub with good service. Steak tips are way too expensive for 6 small pieces of meat for $24. The fries that come with the steak tips are not good, tastes like they were frozen and just reheated. Do yourself a favor and just get drinks and maybe apps.

I JUST PAID $ 28 FOR A STEAK TIP DINNER. WHICH WAs m.ORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE WEBSITE PRICE the restaurant was.pty. the bar was full of the normal regular bar flies. I finally got my food. I went home only to find they had given me no utensils. Good thing I was at home. Also the food was room temp even though I had to wait. The food was at best average
