Cocktails & Southeast Asian street food like Thai fried chicken in a hip setup with tin ceilings.

If you go to one place in Portland PLEASE GO HERE. Holy crap this is officially one of my favorite restaurants of ALL TIME. Everything I ate was good. My favorites are: Waterfall Salad with Crispy Mushroom, Kaprow Gai, Gange Pet Wings, one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve had and the fries and the ranch were all unique. The Fruity pebble ice cream sandwich with lemongrass ice cream was INSANE as well.

Lunch at the sidewalk bar on one of the last warm, sunny days of fall was near perfection. The scallop crudo was rich and sweet, the chicken wings were crispy, flavorful perfection, and the waterfall salad was a fried mushroom extravaganza, offset by fresh herbs and a complex, well-balanced sauce. Oh, and the lemongrass mocktail made me wonder what other treats the bartender can whip up! What a great Portland spot.

BEST fried chicken I’ve ever had. All the sauces accompanying it were good, especially the ranch. Papaya salad was very mild. All the food was amazing and the atmosphere was great. Cocktails looked delicious too!

Wow, what another great new to me, establishment serving up amazing Korean, Asian cuisine. Simple cocktails led to the best fried rice I’ve ever had. Dotted with Chinese sausage and what must have been rice powder or flour that gave it an incredible Unami effect. The chicken sandwich was over the top and I would highly recommend not leaving here without trying it. This was the best lunch we had on our two day Portland excursion

First off, our hostess and waitress were straight up like the nicest people. They were also super transparent about allergies / sensitivities. Thanks for being such champs!
Our table ordered lots of dishes – as they’re mostly app sized – and we were STUFFED by the end! Everything was phenomenal. We had a hard time choosing a fav, but although their specialty is fried chicken, we all agreed this was personally the weakest of the bunch – but this is on a scale of ‘everything was amazing so what was the least amazing’. We all loooved the pork belly and pad see ew, among other things. We also loved all the sauces (especially the spiciest one, which wasn’t that hot!) Everything came out SUPER fast too, even tho they were at capacity and we had waited an hour + to get in.
I loved the fruity pebble ice cream ‘sandwich’ dessert – just the right sweetness. That is NOT for one person tho – split it with the table.

Love, love, love Crispy Gai. The chicken wings are out of this world. Perfectly crunchy and seasoned soooo well. I love the regular seasoning, but also the red curry seasoning is phenomenal. The go-to order is wings and sticky rice.
Other foods here are also good, but personally find that the wings overshadow the other dishes because they’re just so good. Service at the bar is always on point and the cocktails are great! I love the Thai twist on the cocktail flavors for sure.

5 stars across the board!! Crispy Gai is incredible. Not only for delicious food, but the beautiful atmosphere and kind staff. I can’t count how many friends, family members, etc. I have brought to Crispy Gai. The food comes out super quickly, always delivered with a smile, and it’s super fresh. I definitely recommend the Hat Yai wings!! The decor is very tasteful, and the seating is pleasant no matter where. Overall, Crispy Gai is a Portland gem, and it will definitely leave you wanting to come back for more!

OUR FAVORITE RESTAURANT EVER. I’ve visited Portland twice and I’ve been here twice. An absolute must. The food, staff, food, music, food, VIBE is everything!! Did I mention they have good food. The drinks are also a must. I feel like we’ve tried everything on the menu. . What can I say, we like to eat. My personal favorite is the cabbage salad with ginger goodness. The chicken, oysters, fried rice, and pork skewers are all worthy of a taste. It was all good to me. Thank you!!!!

Solid wings and insane sauces.
Heard so many great things about this place from my friends, so I dropped by this weekend for a quick lunch. Even at 1:30 PM, the place was very busy. No tables open, so we squeezed into small counter seats to skip the wait.
I always order wings at Southeast Asian spots, so my standards run pretty high. By those standards, the wings here fell on the better end of the spectrum, but weren’t quite best-in-class. To be honest, I’ve had better wings elsewhere, but the sauces here changed the whole game. They were, quite literally, finger-lickin’ good.
Wings – We tried all three varieties, and while the dry rubs on the Red Curry and Sichuan wings didn’t fully impress (the Sichuan batch was even slightly overcooked), the accompanying sauces redeemed everything. These are sauces you could drizzle onto cardboard, and it would probably taste great.
Sauce Party – Five total, and worth ordering enough wings to try them all. My top picks were the NJS Ranch and the Nam Jim Gai. Both had a funky umami depth with a bit of extra acidity that took everything up a notch. The only one I found a bit underwhelming was the Thai chili sauce.
Pad See Ew – A straightforward but well-executed dish that rounded out the meal.
Mango Sticky Rice – The mango was slightly underripe, but I genuinely enjoyed the rice’s congee-like consistency. That additional moisture provided the dish a comforting, hearty texture that worked particularly well served warm.
