Simple kitchen serving typical Puerto Rican eats such as pernil & plantains in a buffet-style setup.

I personally think this place is slightly overrated. Its always packed so that’s a good sign, but I believe this is the case because of marketing and it being on TV. When I arrived I waited about 15 minutes in line, I was disappointed that you’re not able to order a specific dish or food? But, only allowed to choose from what’s already made.. the selection wasn’t the best. I ordered white rice with beef stew and tostones. The tostones came out fresh so I got excited, just to find out they were extremely undercooked, no crisp at all to it. The owner even saw that the quality of the tostones were not up to her standards. She yelled back at the cook to do better in Spanish and even joked to him that she was going to kill him, everybody in line started chuckling, but she still served them and charged for them. That’s just poor quality control. This place really is more focused on QUANTITY than QUALITY. The goal is to serve as many people in a hour, rather than serve high quality food and double check standards. Won’t be returning.

We got our wedding catered with them and OMG still hearing people rave about the food! Everything was DELICIOUS, so fresh, and authentic! I wish I had a photo or video but I’m sure I’ll get one soon so I can update my review. Thank you so much to this team for making it all work! They delivered it all perfectly and there was so much! We’ll be back for more!

This is some of the best Puerto Rican food I’ve ever had and growing up Puerto Rican and being on the island this says a lot. You are missing out if you’ve never been here. The food is consistently amazing. The service is great, fast, and on point. The location is conveniently located down the street from my mom’s. I highly highly recommend. You will not be disappointed.

First time trying this place and it surpassed my expectations! I loved how authentic and real the prices and food was.
Brenda greeted us and asked us what we wanted and she was so funny and kind. She answered all our questions and honestly was a true gem to our whole experience.
We order a bit of everything but what you do have to try is their pernil, empanadas, and plantains. The plates filled me up and packed so much flavor. Everything is cooked fresh and day of in the morning.
The restaurant itself is laid back and very casual to have lunch or dinner with coworkers or family.
Highly recommend for anyone who wants a filling plate with quality and at a great price.

0 Stars – Terrible Experience from Start to Finish
The line was insanely long, and I waited over 30 minutes for some average-tasting frituras. There was no space between people — it was a complete mess. By the time I finally got to the counter (on the opposite side where you can’t even see what’s being served, just walls and tables), I was being rushed like it was my fault the line took forever. The guy even made a gesture basically telling me to hurry up. Disgusting attitude especially coming from a man.
And the food? Not worth it at all. The empanadilla de pernil was hard, dry, tasteless, and full of air. Extreme letdown and waste of money.
The parking situation was terrible too. Honestly, from start to finish, just a frustrating and disappointing experience. I’ve had way better Hispanic food with real flavor and authenticity. This place seriously needs to humble itself and learn what good service and good food actually mean.
I’m highly disappointed.

Buffet style service. Go down the line and pick your items. The price is reasonable for what you put into your plates. Popular during lunches and the good stuff goes quickly. Call ahead for Togo pickup. 10 out of 10 for original home cooked food!

I moved to new britain 4 months ago and it’s so hard to get that PR food from when your grandmother made it. My boyfriend told me to try this spot and everything i got was amazing, the empanadas was my fav part not even mofongo (sorry) can’t come close to these. the meat was juicy and the rice was fresh and not hard like other places i been too. this will be my spot before work now at least twice a week

One server was helping me at first, and then a blonde server came out of nowhere with a nasty attitude, getting rude about the prices. All I wanted was one order of white rice with meat separated and not touching each other, and she started snapping about it being “different prices.” I wanted to eat in, but they try to serve everything mixed together in a bowl, making the food look like literal wet dog food. Because of the blonde lady’s attitude, the server who was originally helping me also started catching an attitude.
This place has way too much hype and it’s honestly not worth it. Presentation is everything and so is customer service and attitude, and they failed at both. I ended up walking out without ordering anything. I don’t recommend this place at all. If I could give zero stars, I would.
