Oh my gosh what a gem! It’s like Lake Placid Inn but for steaks. This is a dive and service can be very leisurely, so lower your expectations for atmosphere and speed or try a different place. The food was so, so good and the chef was super friendly. Our new fave.

We were lucky to get in on this Wednesday night Special..Pork Hocks ‘n Sauerkraut, Mashed potatoes!! It was a request made from a local resident that asked Chris to make it. OMG!! This plate of food was outstanding, stick to the ribs and so very delicious. Every mouthful brought back memories of my Mom – when she made it for our Family. Crickets is a fun gathering place for great food, drink and socializing.

Laid back lighting and rustic atmosphere. Food was amazing and definitely the best fish fry I’ve had In the Northwoods! Prices are reasonable and the staff was excellent!
The only thing that caught me off guard was that they do not accept cards, however they do have an ATM on site.

Great Up-North Food!! John and Chris make you feel at home and their Broasted Chicken is the best along with their Chicken Alfredo. Home made pasta. Delicious!! Their Fish Fry also is awesome. Cindy, their bartender, makes the best Wisconsin Brandy Old Fashion Sweet along with her Bloody Mary.
Don’t judge their cover “outside” because what they offer for food and service makes up for it.

Never had a disappointing meal. Every Wednesday is something different. Tonight was Cuban sandwich with shrimp salad. It was amazzzing!!!

Food was “meh”, only thing that was actually decent were the fries. I ordered chips with my burger, just a small bag of lays potato chips? Really? Didn’t even open them on to the plate. The bad part: the EXTERIOR! The owner had chickens running around outside, lawn wasn’t mowed, a garage was a mess, tore apart vehicles. The WORST part: They opened at 11am, we got there, no window lights were on, and the main door was locked! 10/10 would NOT recommend! Never ever going back again.

We are new to the area so we’ve been checking out different places for fish fry. The reviews for Crickets were good so we thought we’d try it. I’m not sure if the other people who reviewed Crickets just haven’t been exposed to good food and service or what but we were more than disappointed. We loved the dog when we first walked in but that was the only thing good. There were very few people in the bar yet we waited nearly an hour for fish. Once the fish came all three of us noticed that our fish was actually just batter. I don’t think any of us actually ended up with even a McDonald’s fish filet sized amount of actual fish on our plate. I ate all my “batter” which was horrible but thought I’d be fine with the French fries to at least fill me up. I didn’t know it was possible but you CAN actually make nasty fries. We will not be returning.

Let me start with the old fashioned. It was perfect for sure. Then let’s move on to the first course of the shrimp chowder. Let me tell you from a soup connoisseur that this was TO DIE FOR!!! Then we will move on and to the salad. A salad with a croissant? Yes they have that here! Then the icing on the cake was as the amazing prime rib!!! I will tell you I will never ever get prime rib anywhere else! This is the place to go to for sure!!! Thank you crickets for the best meal ever!!!
