Had a wonderful dining experience at Hotel Cresent Anna Nagar. The food quality and taste were truly impressive.
The highlight of our meal was the Ceylon Chicken Parotta — perfectly spiced with rich flavors and soft, flaky parotta that paired beautifully with the gravy. The Egg Kothu Parotta was equally delicious, nicely chopped and seasoned just right with a homely yet flavorful touch. A special mention to their Prawn 65, which was crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and packed with authentic South Indian flavors.
Another big plus is the seating — there’s ample space available, making it comfortable for families and groups to dine without feeling crowded.
One small suggestion for improvement: all the dishes, including starters and main course, were served together. By the time we finished the starters, the main dishes had cooled down a bit. Serving the starters first and bringing the main course slightly later would make the experience even better.
Overall, a great place for tasty food in Anna Nagar. Definitely worth a visit!

The food was great with a wide variety of options. Everything was served quickly, except for the ramen bowls which took a bit longer. The taste was excellent and a big hit with the kids! The Kili Parotta is another must-try—perfectly spiced and delicious.

Crescent was meant to be a simple stop for a quick dinner, but the experience unfolded like a short thriller. The place was overflowing and after a few minutes of standing around, the staff casually mentioned that there was seating at the back. Why this magical hidden section was not revealed earlier remains a mystery. The path leading to it felt like an obstacle course in an abandoned warehouse, narrow, dim and lined with enough rusty metal to make you consider your tetanus vaccine status. Yet at the end of this journey was a surprisingly pleasant space, softly lit, neatly arranged, exposed brick walls and warm hanging lamps. It felt like a secret restaurant that even the restaurant forgot it had.

Once seated, hope flickered. The ambience felt new, clean, almost charming. But as always, the truth arrives on a plate.

We began with the BBQ chicken. It was decent, pleasant in its own mild way, with a flavour that was gentle but competent. The chicken, however, did not get the memo. It was tough and dry, as though it had done time in solitary confinement before meeting the grill. Still, it managed to pass as edible.

Then came the idiyappam with mutton gravy, the dish that single handedly reminded us of the fragility of hope. The idiyappam tasted tired, soft in places, firm in others, the culinary equivalent of a shrug. It soaked the gravy well enough but carried no charm of its own. The mutton gravy was the true villain of the evening. Barely two sad pieces floated inside, as though they had wandered in by accident. The gravy itself was a thick, blunt assault of masala, lacking depth, nuance or even basic flavour harmony. It was left unfinished, a fate it fully earned.

By then dessert felt like a dangerous gamble, so we respectfully withdrew.

Service, to its credit, was attentive and quick, perhaps the only part of the evening that moved smoothly. The prices, however, seemed inflated with confidence the kitchen clearly did not share. Crescent may once have been beloved for its older reputation, but the cracks are widening and unless the management awakens, this may soon become one more fading name in Anna Nagar’s long list of has beens.

5.5/10

Had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The evening snacks were fresh, authentic, and packed with flavor – just like homemade Kerala delicacies. From crisp pazham pori and hot parippu vada to perfectly spiced cutlets, everything was served piping hot and full of taste. The quality of the food is excellent, with every dish reflecting authentic Mallu flavors and care in preparation. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, making it a great spot to enjoy tea and snacks with family or friends. Truly a place that brings the essence of Kerala to the table – highly recommended! ☕

Ordered Veg curry along with Parotta through Zomato. Veg curry was completely spoiled. My 2 kids had half without realising it is spoiled, we got to know after i had it. We contacted Zomato for complaint, but not received proper response by asking us to contact directly to restaurant which was not expected. Hence, I’m writing this review on the restaurant portal. It’s not about we spend, it’s about trust on the restaurant. Way forward I’ll avoid ordering from this restaurant. At last, if any food poison occurs to our kids, i may take necessary steps.

Food was amazing and service was really good. Mr Ajad suggested all the unique and signature dishes. One such is Grilled Koduva fish and we loved it. We were also offered complimentary Bread Halwa as a sweet gesture. Will definitely come again and would recommend this restaurant. Hats off team!!
