If you’re looking for that authentic Viet-Cajun soul in the heart of The Heights, Crawfish Cafe is absolutely hitting the mark. We kicked things off with the Crawfish Beignets and the Shrimp Garlic Noodles, and both were incredible starters. The beignets were fluffy and savory, while the garlic noodles provided that perfect, buttery comfort to get us ready for the heat.
For the main event, we dove straight into the 1lb Spicy Viet-Cajun Basil Crawfish and the Fish and Chips with sweet potato Cajun fries. The crawfish were spectacular—the aromatic basil mixed with that signature spicy kick is exactly what Viet-Cajun is all about. However, the real sleeper hit was the fish; it was incredibly fresh and flaky, easily becoming my favorite part of the entire meal. Paired with those sweet and spicy fries, it was a total knockout.
This is the ultimate spot if you crave bold, aromatic flavors and a great atmosphere. Whether you’re looking for a massive feast before Lent or a solid seafood fix on a Friday, I highly recommend checking them out. Just be prepared to get your hands a little dirty!
The boiled crawfish was good as well. Only feedback is… wish there was better bundle deals for the boils. For example, crawfish, potatoe, and corn for a set amount. Other then that, highly recommend this place!
Visiting from Atlanta. I told my friend that instead of Sunday brunch, I wanted to get a boil bag instead, so he brought me here. I’ve had better boil bags than this spot. My boil bag contained snow crab legs, shrimp, eggs, potato, and corn. Seasoning could have been more potent. Their melted butter that came on the side really came in handy.
My garlic noodles were the star of the show. Now that was good and well-seasoned. The beignets were disappointing. The calamari was good, but I didn’t eat too much because I didn’t want to get stuffed before my boil bag came out. Our cocktail was bomb, though. I forgot the name of it, but our waiter recommended it. It was the one with rum in it.
My friend is a simple, basic, and scary eater, so he played it safe and stuck with shrimp and grits.
If I were to come back, it would be for the garlic noodles and that same cocktail.
