All I have to say is WEPAAAA! Our first time at this restaurant, and it was excellent!!! The owners were accommodating! I have a seafood allergy, and they went out of their way to make my empanadas separate! That has never happened to me in a restaurant; I would usually have to change my order. Thank you so much!! The Pernil and yellow rice were on point! They even split the kids’ burgers in half and served them separately, making them feel like they were getting their own meals! Drinks were perfect and tasty! I see big things for this restaurant!! The atmosphere reminded me of Abuela’s house in PR. Definitely a place I will be visiting over and over again! Again, thank you for your hospitality!!

So impressed! The food was authentic and delicious to say the least. The service was impeccable. 10/10, I felt like I was en la cocina con mis amigas! The creativity setting up the old school kitchen and living room, amazing. They have gained regulars for sure!

I had an amazing experience! The environment is welcoming, great music, tasty strawberry lemon drop martini, and authentic food. My stewed chicken was cooked to perfection–absolutely tender and falling off the bone. I will be back! Thank you for a great time!!

Amazing yellow rice and beans, very authentic. Empanadas were creative, savory and scrumptious. We tried the Jibarita with pernil (pork) and maduros (ripe plantains), as a picky eater I was pleasantly surprised. My wife, Skye, tried the traditional beef empanada and the Cubano and they were both fantastic. Another nice touch is the retro display up on the landing of furniture and appliances from our childhood, great vibes here. We will be back for more.

Heard about this restaurant from a friend who lives nearby. Stopped in for dinner. I will say it wasnt packed which was great. The service was pretty good and the Mocktail options were on point. Now on to the food which is why I came. The tostones were very large A+ there. The red beans were seasoned perfectly with very little salt. I ate the pollo guisado which was ok. I will definitely come back as I believe the menu will expand. Really nice people I have to say.

Just had an amazing lunch at the Cranky Coqui. The lady at the front is so kind and happy to serve her customers. I tried their shrimp ceviche which was great for the sunny weather, I tried their fatty beef empanada with their homemade hot sauce and their sauté garlic shrimp was amazing with the rice and beans. I definitely recommend this place to my puertorican friends and family and will keep coming back for lunch ❤️

✨ Date night done right ✨
Last night my husband and I had dinner at The Cranky Coquí, and WOW — this is authentic Puerto Rican food at its absolute best ❤️
We started with the shrimp ceviche, and the flavors were so fresh and so good. I ordered the pernil with yellow rice and had the hardest time choosing a side — maduros or tostones I went with the maduros… OMG. So good. The pernil literally melted in your mouth, and the flavors were incredibly authentic.
My husband tried mofongo with pernil for the first time and it did not disappoint. Thankfully, he ordered tostones on the side so we could share — and that garlic oil sauce they came with? Game changer. I don’t think I can eat tostones any other way again
Dessert was a full send: flan, tres leches, and flourless chocolate cake — every bite was amazing. And the Coquí-tini was the perfect finishing touch.
Beyond the food, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming — you truly feel at home the moment you walk in. If you’re looking for delicious, authentic Puerto Rican cuisine, this place is a must.
Absolutely incredible from start to finish.
