No wait on a Saturday night? Awesome! We decided on a table in the outside seating section.
While waiting for our orders, we were served a complimentary giant Bavarian pretzel with honey mustard and cheese sauce made in-house. The pretzel was awesome, toasted and lightly salted on the outside then soft and chewy on the inside. Dipped in the cheese sauce was good, in the honey mustard sauce- better. Dipped in honey mustard then the cheese sauce? Sublime! almost inhaled half of that twisted evil-goodness. So we ordered the following: Prime Texas Style Smoked Brisket Half pound, smoked to perfection for 14 hours, melt in your mouth tender, you don’t even need a knife. So juicy and seasoned well. Brisket and grits- good flavor although the texture and drier consistency of the grits threw me off. Scratch Brisket & Short Rib Sausage, so good. Loved the snap from the sausage casing. Waffle fries, surprisingly good portion. I mean for 5 bucks you get a whole tray of fries cooked to perfection. Add-on Hot Chicken Tenders (not on menu), juicy all white meat chicken breaded and deep fried had a really good spice but not too hot to handle. Mud pie, a perfect finish for a superb meal. Our Server Drew was especially attentive, gave excellent recommendations, and made sure our food was cooked to our liking and our drinks are re-filled. 5-star service. Located in the same area as the Santa Anita Mall, parking can be tough during rush hours. We drove around three times until we chanced upon someone leaving.

This Review is solely based on the brisket burrito. I placed order through their website, no call in orders. I went in to pick up, plenty of parking, the guy in the front was very cheerful and i asked for condiments after he handed me my order, he didn’t hesitated at all and brought me 3 different sauces, so that was amazing!
The burrito itself looked good, and the first bite was flavorful, the mac and cheese was excellent, the brisket was good too, it didn’t tasted too salty which i like, the burrito was really yummy. The burrito was all wrapped in cheese as well.
Would come here again just to try the other burrito. So worth a try definitely.

We came here to celebrate my husbands bday. Food was cooked to perfection. Customer service was good. The manager is very kind gave us shots and wrote happy bday in it. We ordered the all smoke platter. We have plenty of left overs for dinner and probably the next day. We ordered it with Mac n cheese, Mashed potatoes, Brussel sprouts and waffle fries. We ate during happy hour and the drinks are buy one and get on free of the same drink.

Very busy place on a Friday night, and a nice selection of items on the menu. The pastrami was amazingly good, I’m so glad I chose it over the brisket – tender and full of flavor. The beef short rib was also very good, moist and tender but not fatty, although the rub was excessively salty. Pickles were perfectly pickled and crunchy. Mud pie was the choice of dessert for several at our table and was enjoyed all around. The service was sufficient but not stellar – some hospitality faux pas like serving drinks by holding the rim, and not bussing any dishes from the table until the very end of the meal. I’d definitely return for more of the delicious meat!

I always see this place jammed pack for dinner with a long queue. We decided to book a reservation for Sunday Brunch for 11AM and watched the crowd roll in during the meal.

They have a very limited extra brunch menu (in addition to their full menu) that included their take on a SoCal brunch: chilaquiles, chicken & waffles (Nashville hot chicken with a red velvet waffle), chicken fried steak, and a breakfast burrito. The brunch drink specials were their famous Bloody Mary for $8 or a bottle of brut sparkling wine & for $10 – we decided to go for the self-pour mimosa (which we prefer since only want to bubbles and my husband likes lots of O). The others in our group ordered a coffee and an Arnold Palmer.

We started the meal with the Mountain High Loaded Fries with Nashville Hot Chicken (the other choices of protein was brisket or smash burger). The crisscut fries has their own delicious seasoning that went well with the hot chicken. To add to the savoriness, the cheese sauces really made this appetizer feel hardy. The coleslaw and b & pickles really helped cut through the richness of this starter. This was perfect to share to kick off brunch

The coffee drinker ordered the the breakfast burrito with jalapeno cheddar sausage and a side order of the red velvet waffle. There was so much sausage in her burrito that she took half of the sausage out – finished the burrito like normal then ate the half of the sausage separately with the red velvet waffle (sweet, savory and a little spice).

The Arnold Palmer drinker ordered the brisket grilled cheese. It’s wild they grill the brisket, sauce and 3 cheese blend together, then roll the contents into the sandwich. He ordered the pickles on the side, which think was a mistake because he needed the crisp sweet & tart pickles to cut through the richness of the sandwich. His side was the Street Corn Named Desire that was pretty bomb (I had a bite).

My husband and I shared the brisket Burrito and stockburger with a premium side brisket & grits. The brisket burrito was amazing! I’m from Texas, so could taste the smoked flavor of the brisket and loved the leaner quality of the beef. The stockburger was ridiculously massive. It was so high that had to smash it down to a manageable size. The double smash burger had a nice crunch-char that went well with the smoky brisket and creamy mac and cheese. The brisket & grits were a league on their own – too heavy to be it’s own entree. The parmesan grits and savory chopped brisket was decedent and well with the $2 premium side upcharge.

The ambiance was nice – the seats had nice padding in a charcoal color leather. Lots of warm wood elements. Very much a nice, contemporary barbeque restaurant than a chop shop in Lockhart. The place reminded me of Houston’s (the restaurant chain, not the city).

Our server was Ashley – very friendly, made great recommendations, and even surprised us with a complimentary shot. The bartender called it a Sunday Funday, she renamed it a Pink Flamingo – it tasted like X rated infused vodka and lemon-lime soda. Such a nice treat!

Highly recommend! Amazing Service! Large party of 60 for a graduation dinner and this crew rocked!!! The smoked meat was fire tomahawk tender and seasoned perfectly. Brisket tender. Short rib fall off the bone. Mac and brussel sprouts delish. Not one complaint. Worth every penny and we thank you Theresa!

Like all my fellow Yelpers who left great reviews for this restaurant, I am too were totally impressed by the food and service of this new addition to the Santa Anita Mall food scene.

We had an awesome experience here for lunch. The people are so nice and super friendly. From the moment you walk in the door, you feel welcomed. Our waitress Des was totally awesome. She was smiling all the time and seemed to be very happy working there.

With her help we made some good lunch selections. She recommended to us that anything with brisket should be good. We got ourselves quite a bit of foods including a brisket cheese melt, a smoke brisket meat, fried chicken sandwich and brisket quesadilla.

They were all tasted fantastic. Our waitress was right on with the brisket recommendations. They were so tender and juicy and in par with the Texas BBQ brisket. The fried chicken sandwich was equally good. With the full southern BBQ fried chicken flavor, we were blown away with the juicy taste.

When we talked to the general manager Ben, we came to know why their food are so good. He told us that they are family owned and everyone loves to work here. They cook their food with love and they serve their customers like family members. We had a very family conversation with Ben and felt like at home having a BBQ cook out.

We missed having a good bbq restaurant in Arcadia since Wood Ranch closed its Arcadia branch. Looks like we have a great BBQ restaurant to fill the void. Definitely looking forward to dine here frequently.

Food was amazing. The birria quessadilla is a great appetizer and you can never go wrong with a pile of meat for food. Good place to share plates if you want to try everything. This version is in the mall and is really light and airy. Looks totally new, which I think it is. We got there at 6 on a Monday and it was empty bit filled up fast while we were there. Came back at 6:15 on a Thursday and it was still empty, but filled up quick.

Lots of free parking available. Valet service is optional. Great place for watching games and big groups. Outdoor seating is available. Got the BBQ brisket and pastrami. It came with two pieces of white bread, three pickles, and marinated onions. Beef was tasty and perfectly cooked.

Our server forgot about us. She mentioned no apologies for making us wait 18 minutes to get our orders. The restaurant was not busy at all. Horrible service from her.

Cool spot that used to be wood ranch. They refreshed the booths with black pleather and did a repaint. Looks fresh. Showed up 5 minutes before our reservation and was told it would be a few minutes before our table was ready but 20 minutes later it was ready. Had a seat and our waitress was prompt to get our drinks ordered. Those took about 15 minutes to show up which was surprising but they were delicious. The food took another 25 minutes to show up but our waitress apologized with some great vodka shots. The food was good and huge portions that made great leftovers. Unfortunate that the timing of everything overshadowed the quality of the food and drinks. Perhaps they will get better with time.
