Appetizers & sides
The loaded baked potato was a “MEH” it was luke warm and the butter hardly melt on it.
On the other hand the loaded mac&cheese was da bomb! Very rich and flavorful easily the best side here. Another highly recommend is the cheddar bites, hot on the inside and crispy delish on the outside you can eat it by itself or dip it in their nice ranch dressing.
The hash brown was great too. Rich and cheesy, yet crunchy.
Skip the rolls. They’re ok but came out almost at room temp.
Entree
Our least favorite the country fried steak. It’s good but it was really out of place compared to the rest of the food.
The steak was great but in comparison to the chicken… it was underwhelming. Especially when Texas Roadhouse is just next-door. 10 oz sirloin with 6 grilled shrimp. Delish shrimp tho.
The Nashville chicken is our 2nd fav. The skin was crunchy yet combined with the Nashville sauce, its was a heck of combo… and its not as spicy as you think. We added additional tabasco for an extra kick. It’s why it’s our 2nd fav.
The star of the of lunch was the buttermilk fried chicken. OMG, it was so YUMMMY!!!. The boneless breast was moist on the inside yet crunchy on the outside. The flavor got in to the whole breast! No dipping sauce needed. Just simply eat the chicken by itself, period. We’ll return to try their other chicken dishes real soon.
From the moment we arrived, he loved sitting in the rocking chairs while we waited for our table. Even better, the wait was only about 15 minutes on a Saturday morning, which was a pleasant surprise. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was wonderful, exactly what you expect from Cracker Barrel.
I especially can’t get enough of their pancake syrup. It’s so good that I had to purchase two bottles to take home! Cracker Barrel is definitely a breakfast staple for our family, and we’ll be back again soon.
The gift shop was a fun bonus with a charming mix of candles, toys, sodas, and vintage-style finds. I even left with a cute decorative green bottle! Wish there were more locations closer to home, but this little road trip was a delicious adventure!
