As much as I would love to love this place, every time I come to here I’m slightly disappointed. Mainly, because of what I have experienced at other places. First you inevitably must wait in a line through a crowded country store, 5 minutes -30 minutes if lucky. But then you must wait for a busy waitress to come by and ask offer a drink, 5 minutes to 10 minutes, if you are lucky. Now instead of better it goes downhill a bit more. Coffee drinkers beware, you think you are in a country fresh place but you are quickly and rudely reminded it’s still a corporation when you are denied fresh cream or at least half and half for your coffee. Instead you are offered an expensive sugary fake coffee, up charged. At this point Cracker Barrel is just another run of the mill franchise and no longer a special experience. Will continue this comment later, as my food has arrived. Please share your experience.

Continued, the rest of the meal was again average at best, grandmas pancakes comes w two eggs, one sausage, one bacon and a shrivel of ham. Also, two pancakes which I had upgraded to blueberry. Pancakes were the best part and for $1 extra for blueberries, totally worth the upgrade. Cracker Barrel pancakes have a crispy texture and buttery flavor which does make them unique. Probably, a 7 to 9 out of 10 depending on your preference of pancakes. However, sadly the rest of the items are average to below par quality. Not the quality of breakfast that would make grandma very proud. At least the place is clean and the staff if quick to remove dirty plates from the table. Almost with a sense of urgency that becomes apparent that turning tables is a top priority. After all it’s a corporation, which, is not a bad thing. Overall, Cracker Barrel, has its many shortcomings, tries to give the country feel but doesn’t let you forget it’s still a corporation trying to give some value and keep its food costs low. To their credit, I’ve had the dinner dishes like pot pies and meatloaf and was happy with the experience. On my next visit, I’ll try for lunch or dinner and hopefully be redeemed with a better experience.

The staff and servers at Cracker Barrel are always very welcoming and friendly. This restaurant was no different when it came to that.

However, my wife and I were very disappointed in what came next. After our server took our drink order, we looked at the weekend specials. We were there on a Sunday at 3:30pm and the Sunday specials were the ‘Southern Fried Chicken’ dinners. That’s what we were hungry for! We placed our order with our server, only for her to immediately tell us, “Sorry, we are out of the Southern Fried Chicken dinners”. What?! I couldn’t believe what I was hearing! First… why did she not tell us this right up front? Second… the kitchen is out of their Sunday special at 3:30pm? I’m very concerned with the way this store is being managed. But it gets worse!

I’ve had the Meatloaf at another Cracker Barrel, and it was very good; so that’s what I ordered. Now, please take a look at the attached pictures.

I was brought a skimpy little piece of half-burnt meatloaf and a small slop of mashed potatoes with barely any gravy. Then five minutes later, I was brought two microscopic hush-puppies! (Ironically, the only item in this tiny dinner that had any flavor was the hush-puppies!)

Now compare this dinner with the four pieces of chicken I was looking forward to. We had communicated our disappointment to the manager regarding the Southern Fried Chicken dinners, and she told us sorry for the kitchen not having any ready. But you would think she would have told the kitchen to at least add one more inch to my meatloaf to compensate for their bad planning (smh)!

I really like Cracker Barrel restaurants, and I am so very disappointed in this one. 🙁

I hope they quickly improve.

Side note: Always love the music, but it was so loud here that my wife and I could barely talk to each other.

I love going to Crackle Barrel every weekend, however this past weekend we were not able to make it so I ordered pick-up. The 2 stars I put was only because the meal was made on time except they didn’t have an item I ordered so they replaced it. Once we got home I was excited to eat my meal untill I opened the container and tasted the food. The eggs were very dry, the bacon was hard and overcooked as well as the sausages they were hard dry burn and looked like when you forget you have a sausage in the pan and almost burn it that it starts to shrink. I was extremely disappointed that my breakfast was that bad even my $5 take home cold meal that I had reheated it the next day in the microwave was juicier more flavorful. The only thing that was good about our meals, were the pancakes (even though they only gave us one syrup and we did ask for extras) I DO NOT recommend getting pick-up at all unless you like hard dry food. I should have listened to my children and just ordered McD’s it would have been cheaper and not dry and hard.

CONSISTENTLY DELICIOUS!!! MeanMuggerTrucker here at the ElPaso CB. Ms Viola, your team has yet to let me down; Uncle Herschel would be proud! Clean, professional atmosphere with smiles on every team members faces! My compliments to the chef and kitchen staff as my foods presentation and flavor was picture perfect and consistently delicious. Patty, thank you for your comforting service and kind spirit. Not only did I feel right at home, but I also felt welcomed to return. Everyone was quite informative of the daily specials and helpful with choosing a dessert. Keep up the good work team! Sincerely, BlinkerFluid Logistics.

Love this place gives a warm holiday spirit. I love the little gift shop gives you something to do while you wait to be seated. Ranges from jewelry to candy’s and trading cards. Chicken fried chicken never disappoints and the sides are immaculate, gotta love the old country vibes.

GREAT PEOPLE, GREAT FOOD! I order from here all the time and everything tastes like back home! The staff, like Manager Brittany, are all wonderfully nice and accommodating. The atmosphere, when I get to go instead of ordering in, is very relaxed and homey. Again, the food is always great . Ever have an issue and they will go out of their way to fix it; but it’s very, very rare. All around awesome place to eat or order out.

First visit, last visit. Asked for a medium-rare steak, got a well-done chew toy served with A-1 on standby, like they knew… Cornbread was pure sawdust even after drowning it in butter and jelly. My mother’s “shrimp bowl” came with 6 lonely shrimp. Staff was friendly and the country store looked cool, so I’ll give two stars for the people. But the kitchen? Hard pass, I won’t be sticking around to the breakfast which is supposed to be superior. The bill was just under $60, honestly, I would’ve preferred any other nearby spot instead.

We love Cracker Barrel and frequently dine at the westside location, where we consistently have a great experience. Unfortunately, our first visit to the far east location was very disappointing.

Although we were seated quickly with no wait time, the issues began once our food arrived. I ordered the Grandpa’s Country Fried Breakfast with chicken fried chicken, but it was served without gravy, and the biscuits and gravy that were supposed to accompany the meal were missing. I also ordered a side of pancakes, but no syrup was provided. I had to wait approximately 10 minutes for the gravy, biscuits, and syrup to be brought out, which meant I couldn’t eat my meal right away. By the time everything arrived, my food was cold.

My wife ordered egg whites and grilled chicken tenders. Unfortunately, one of the tenders was still raw. Due to concerns about cross-contamination, she chose not to eat the rest of her meal. Additionally, my son’s scrambled eggs were undercooked.

This experience was extremely disappointing, especially considering how much we enjoy the westside location. Sadly, this will likely be our first and last visit to the far east location. We would rather make the drive to the westside in the future.
