Amazing food and service! Everyone is extremely nice and patient with how busy things are. Both the people on the store side and the restaurant side were very pleasant to speak with. The food may not look very fancy on presentation however makes up for it on the great taste! My favorite are the dumplings with pot roast coming in second place. The pot roast literally falls apart to where you don’t need a knife. Overall I recommend this place for some good hearty food..

If I could give it zero stars I would. Our 3 families (8 people total) just went to eat at the Alexandria, LA location and when I say it was horrible… that’s an understatement. 45 minutes to be seated, then another hour and a half to be told that they are out of 3 of the main dishes ordered. Then I went to talk to the manager who told me that bread was served with the meal and that’s why we were still waiting on it. Funny, we finally got meal which was nothing that we ordered and the ones that did get what they ordered…. well it was COLD!

I had the 1 piece fried fish with broccoli and fried apples. The fish was so good it was like we fry ours at home. The biscuits were very delicious. The waitress was nice. Our food didn’t take long to come out.

Our server, Michael, was attentive and quick to wait on us. The chicken and dumplings were plentiful and delicious! The buttermilk biscuits, the fried okra and baby carrots were great!

The lemon pepper trout with turnip greens and carrots is my go-to dish when I’m visiting. Very tasteful. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is due to all the confusion for trying to pick up a curb side to-go order for the family.

I stopped in on my way home to Texas for some biscuits and a quick walk through the shop. The person taking to-go orders was so sweet and got everything together quickly (was not an expectation, she was just efficient!). Our order had several butters and jellies in the bag which is perfect because I forgot to ask! There isn’t much that’s as good as a fresh Cracker Barrel biscuit!

My husband and I were invited by a resident of Alexandria, LA to have dinner here July 15, 2023. We walked in to be seated and learned there was was water that was spilled on the floor under our seats. It was a task to get an employee to mop it up so we just moved to another table on our own. The menu didn’t have the best selections for me. My husband had the chicken and dumplings which he didn’t enjoy. I decided on fried shrimp, steak fries, which wasn’t the best with my glass of half tea half lemonade and a glass of water. The last time I visited here was November 2021 in which I don’t remember what I had ordered. This particular restaurant just isn’t for me. God bless all the employees.

Don’t plan to dine here if you are in a hurry. The staff will get you seated as soon as possible. If you are a seasoned Cracker Barrel customer, you know what to expect during your visit. There is almost always a wait but we’ll worth it in the end. Shop around the gift shop while you wait for your name to be called. The biscuits and cornbread at the beginning are always a winner with the family and the service always friendly. There are several options to choose from on the menu no matter what your pallet calls for. This is the place to dine at for comfort foods. Put this on your list of places to eat at on road-trips.

Dirty broken glass everywhere. My food literally tasted like it was pulled from a leftover container out of the refrigerator. Cold and tasted horrible. Will not ever visit this location again. Haven’t eaten Cracker Barrel since I was a young child definitely won’t be going again. Service was slow and the wait was horrible. There was only us and one other table there arrived right before 8 we didn’t get our food until after 9.
