We were looking for good food and it has been a long time since my wife and I had been to a Cracker Barrel. I had the grilled catfish along with hash brown casserole and cinnamon apples. My wife had chicken fingers. Both were delicious! Service was prompt. Good place to eat.

Cracker barrel serves comfort food in a country type atmosphere. They have a variety of dishes, and a $6 take home special on the menu. There is also a store with unique gifts. And a big front porch with rocking chairs and checkers to play while you wait for a table, assuming there is a wait, which there was not when I visited.

This resturaunt has greatly improved in both service and food quality.
We stopped for breakfast and everything was excellent.
Our server was OUTSTANDING. She kept coffee full, her name was Monica, if you drive through this area, stop and ask for her. You will not regret it.
The staff kept table clear and this resturaunt was exceptionally clean.
The food was just like our mom would have made.

Delicious food. Went there because of reading about their new weekly 2 for $20 mid-day meal. We were pleasantly surprised with the amount to eat. We picked one appetizer to share, and one entree a piece, off the menu choices. Add two sodapops, and the whole meal’s bill was about $30.
Place was busy but nit over crowded. Waitstaff was attentive and friendly. Food was hot and fresh. Parking lot was easy to get in to and ample spaced. This CB was in Caseyville Illinois, near an interstate offramp.

Charles was our sever for an early dinner! Everything we had was amazing today the steak was cooked to order “perfection” the chicken was flavorful! The hashbrown casserole is always a favorite when we get to eat here! Charles was beyond wonderful he was busy but you would have thought we were his only table. Be waited on. Our steak was way overcooked. My husband’s corn and baked potato were cold. The spiced apples were great! When we asked our server for things like ketchup, it took 10 minutes to get it! They weren’t even busy! It’s no wonder the restaurant was empty.

I order acouple time a week from door dash. They food is alway hot and fresh.. tonight I order breakfast for dinner and it was amazing. Everything was hot cooked perfect. It was so good I called the restaurant to manager thank the cook.

I asked for hot water with extra lemon. The lemons the server brought out looked soggy, slimy, and melted, with no pulp attached to the skin. I asked for fresher lemon slices. They were provided. During dinner, after waiting 30 minutes for food, I received my order of signature fried chicken with sides of turnip greens and pancakes. When the plates were set down and the server walked away, I got a whiff of trash or something rancid. I couldn’t identify it so I began my meal. I ate a wing first, and it was fine. Then I took a bite of my turnip greens and immediately could tell something was wrong. They were either spoiled or rancid from sitting out too long. I don’t know but when I smelled the bowl of greens after spitting out what I had tasted, the same smell was there. The server didn’t come back to check on the meal. I continued to eat after pushing away the greens. I started on the drumstick of chicken, and after the second bite, I noticed blood. The chicken had not been cooked thoroughly. At this point, I walk up to the front to request a manager. I spoke with the manager. She offered to take the food off of the bill. When offered something else, I turned it down.
I really hate to give this review because I have the best experiences with service and food when I visit for morning or lunch. I usually get the same breakfast with my hot water and lemon. For lunch I always order the turnip greens with the cornbread muffins. Hence why I know the difference in taste and quality with them. I don’t usually go for dinner, but I had a taste for some turnip greens and cornbread. Alas, i will just stick with breakfast in the future.

Our Thanksgiving food was amazing! It was supposed to serve 8 to 10 people but the portions were very generous and could have fed many more. It was packed perfectly and easy to transport into the house. The food was so good it made me think of my mom’s cooking.
I hope Cracker Barrel avoids the woke agenda and stays true to its origin of home cooking in an atmosphere with old fashioned decor and warmth. If CB stays true to its original values, I can order again for my next holiday.
