About last night, takeout edition….This location had an off night obviously, after waiting for what I thought was me picking up my order, turned into bad service. The service was slow and the food was not presentable at all. I ordered the Mama’s strawberry pancake breakfast and my first order was canceled, and when I reordered the pancakes they looked fine on the top, but when I flipped them over they weren’t like I expected them to be. The eggs, I didn’t even bother attempting to eat them since they were overcooked as well. I usually go to the location on chaffin place (old fort) which is way better in my opinion.

I’ve never seen a CB so slow. Actually got skipped by two servers and when I finally did get my order. One of my eggs was properly cooked, the grits were insanely lumpy and the sausage was pink swirled. Didn’t taste terrible but the quality was not good. The shop area is nicely decorated though and the dining area is pretty quiet.

Cracker Barrel is solid. Good food kids love it. Nothing I’ve eaten has ever been mind blowing, but it’s a solid choice, offers breakfast at all times. Kids like the shop in front. It’s usually busy so wait times can be a bit longer than you’d like but the servers are pleasant and provide nice service. all in all it’s not the fastest or best dining experience, but generally it’s enjoyable and you’re not going to walk out disappointed.

Grilled chicken salad had hair in it. The meatloaf was just so so. And to top it off after finding hair in the food the manager couldn’t even be bothered to come to our table and apologized for this happening in their restaurant. They removed the salad from the tab which was more then enough with me but the3rd manager couldn’t even be bothered to come to our table is what really bothered me. This is the second time in a row we have had problems there. Last time we never did get all of our food before we just left.Don’t know if I will ever be back there and it used to be one of my favorite places.

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store is widely recognized as a staple of American Southern comfort food, famous for its nostalgic “Old Country Store” atmosphere and home-style cooking. While it remains a favorite for many travelers and families, recent reviews suggest a divide between those who appreciate its consistent value and those who feel the quality has shifted during recent brand updates.
Atmosphere and Experience: The restaurant is known for its front porch lined with rocking chairs and an attached general store filled with nostalgic candies, toys, and decor. The dining area traditionally features a cozy, rustic vibe with stone fireplaces and peg games on every table.
Signature Dishes: Reviewers and fans frequently highlight the Hashbrown Casserole as a must-order side. Other popular staples include their buttermilk pancakes, Chicken n’ Dumplins, and Country Fried Steak topped with Sawmill Gravy.
Service and Value: It is often praised for providing large portions at affordable prices compared to other sit-down chains. However, some guests have noted that service speed can be inconsistent, especially during busy Sunday morning rushes.
Recent Trends: There has been some recent public feedback regarding a “modernized” rebranding in certain locations. While some appreciate the cleaner look and improved lighting, long-time fans often report missing the “soul” and unique antique “clutter” that defined the original experience.
In summary, Cracker Barrel remains a reliable choice for a hearty, traditional Southern meal at a good price. It is best enjoyed by those seeking classic comfort food and a bit of gift-shop browsing, though those looking for high-end culinary innovation or consistent gourmet quality may find the mass-produced nature of the food more “hit-or-miss.”

I love the food at Cracker Barrel. Ive never been disappointed. But the prices are getting outrageous. I was spending $20 a meal for a vegetable plate and lemonade. As I said, it’s delicious. But I actually spent $100 in one week by eating lunch there daily.

Needed to save time and stress so took advantage of the Heat and Feast Easter Ham dinner. I found the ordering process easy, all online, was able to add an extra tray to my order. The website directed me to download the app and sign up and I received an award. I scheduled my reward to be picked up at the same time as my Easter Meal. They brought out my reward snack, but somehow that reset the system and I never got my large order. I tried to call the restaurant directly and no one ever answered the phone. I finally went inside after waiting 20 min in curbside. They said that the rewards and the other Easter Feast were handled on two different platforms and they cancelled the other out. So they finally brought out my order. It was super easy except that one issue. Everyone was super nice and accommodating once we figured out the issue. They did forget my serving pieces so I suggest to look inside the box and make sure it is correct before the employee leaves your vehicle. If you are considering getting one of these heat and serve feasts, be aware they give a booklet with detailed reheating instructions and it’s about 2 hours of prep work. If you are truly going for ease and less stress consider catering. We had a ton of food left over and we had 9 people. So the description is accurate at 8-10 people. The booklet contains instructions to making fun recipes with the leftovers. Family brought other desserts, so I ended up freezing one of the pies for a future event. After all is said and done, I would order this type of meal again.

Usually go there on Wednesday or Thursday but today the turkey and dressing was horrible. On top of the turkey was gravy and a large helping of skin and fat. I was pulling off the skin and fat and setting it to the side of my plate. There was so much it would have filled up one of the serving dishes. The dressing was cold and hard so therefore just lost my appetite after starring at the glob of skin laying to the side of my plate. I finally said just give me a piece of Coca Cola cake to go. When I got home it was a half piece of cake with a lot of icing. Looks like they took the cake and sliced it in half. I’m done with Cracker Barrel. The service has really gone down this year.

This was a still old old-fashioned store the 2 in Murfreesboro Tennessee, the way it was meant to be, the food is good. The service was great, I love shopping in the store. We always have a great time here. The one in Smyrna, I will never visit again. They changed it to the new upgrade and now they’re getting no business.

This was our first time here. The atmosphere is cute with a lot of stuff to look at. The host and waitress were very nice. I honestly can’t remember what we ate… that’s how unmemorable the dishes were. Even after looking at my pics, I can’t remember. The biscuits were good, the corn muffins were OK. The nicest thing was that they brought us a chocolate cake a la mode since it was our first time. Unfortunately, I don’t eat sugar, but my BF said it was good, but VERY sweet! I don’t know if we’ll be back. Maybe for breakfast to give it another chance.
